Actually, I didn't say the playoffs mean nothing. What I said was I'd like to see these kids play against others who are going to be drafted or in that category. See how they play without the domination that comes with being on Ohio State playing Weehawkin State, if you know what I mean. And, as you and I know, those all star games are like the pro bowl, for what it's worth, a joke. As I was thinking things through it was as you said about the conferences. The way things are going they're going to have to figure something out as far as laying the groundwork pre-draft. They really need a developmental league fully funded by the NFL at this point. There's too much $ at stake these days. Just spit balling.
That's the beauty of reading, learning and growing. Shame the organization we choose to follow doesn't seem to be able to do the same.
Hey college guys, who we watching today? I never watch college but it's kinda shitty out so is there any prospects I can watch?
Certainly looks that way. Unfortunately, we get Rutgers vs Ohio State. I guess I'll scout the OSU QB. Beats raking leaves.
Sawyer Robertson on Baylor (game is on TNT right now) is worth a watch IMO. He’s a 4th round pick probably but man does he sling it. Taylen Green on Arkansas (game is on ABC at 3:30) vs. Texas is another guy worth a watch. Mid-round pick. Great physical skills and has played a ton of games. They have one of the best offenses in the country despite being 2-8. They broke the FBS record this year for losses by one score or less I believe so the record is a little deceiving. I’ve liked Jayden Maiava a lot this year on USC so that game is worth a watch especially since it’s the best game of the year and Dante Moore is playing as well. CBS at 3:30. Tonight Brendan Sorsby is the only guy worth a watch on Cincinnati (vs. BYU at 8PM). 5th rounder maybe? All of these guys have good arms and have played a lot of football albeit in conferences with weak defenses.
That's the second time you've mentioned him. I've taken a good look and you're right. What do you think his upside is? To follow my own bellyaching, I'd like to see him against stiffer competition, but he looks like there's something there.
Yeah, Moore looked pretty good today. Has a beautiful arm. And releases the ball pretty quick too. The INT he stared the guy a bit, so the guy who was following the TE stopped and picked him off. He should have probably waited a little longer to develop or moved off of the read. If he keeps this up though, he is going top 5, maybe even #1 overall. I watched part of the Indiana game, he seems to have improved from there. And only 20 years old.
Did I read that Phil Knight will pay "unlimited" in NIL next year? If so, no way Moore leaves Oregon. Edit......I guess unless they were paying to bring in someone better?
Not impressed with Sorsby, wild throws down field for easy interception. Moore was pretty damned impressive short of that interception. He needs to stop staring at receivers to take it to the NFL level. I think Moore would go first if he declares, when all the dust settles down. I know I’ll get flamed but if Mendoza is gone with the first pick, and Moore doesn’t declare, I can see the Jets hitting on some great game changers like Jordyn Tyson WR, Caleb Downs S, Arvell Reese LB, or J McCoy CB among others. If Ruben Bain Edge falls to us it would be hard pass. We can get one or even two game changers to reshape our D completely.
Think Woody will reach back into some ideas floated to him by the brain trust that getting a Marquee QB like he did with Rogers will put asses back in seats. it’s about the Benjamins… Bet it’s Arch Manning.
You think the past decade will have softened the Mannings' stance on how little they want anything to do with the Jets? The Jets are like a prison sentence. It takes years to get that stink off of you.
Even if they had softened, we all know that if we draft Manning, he will be the shittest version of a Manning QB ever, and they'll all have a secret laugh at how they've fucked us again.
IMO he's the only qb worthy of a top 5 pick right now. There was a lot of talk of him staying in school but he's playing well right now. If they make a run in the playoffs, I think he declares. I would pair him up with Sadiq with our other 1st. Taylor and Sadiq tandem would be a young qbs bff.
You would need #1 overall pick to get him. If he plays well, plus Manning's name... And no one is trading that pick either. It's like when Trevor Lawrence came out - the only team that could get him is the one that did the best job tanking. Basically you may need to win just 1 game next year to get him, or just lose out completely - same situation as 2021. Btw, watched some Sellers yesterday as well. Looked like man amongst boys out there. Did the opponent completely suck or he just put it together now? Reminded me of Lamar.
