Jets player tough against the Ravens but lost in the end. We are hosting Falcons which is not a good team. I expect Jets to win this one and I will be surprised if they don’t.
We win this one and burn draft capital trading up for a QB we could have obtained by losing this one.
We win because the Falcons are bad, we’re at home and we’ve been playing decently. People piss and moan and whine about it. That’s my official prediction. I’m in a luxury box for this one thanks to some really dumb luck. I don’t give a shit who wins.
Unfortunately, this is the take I have as well. Cousins is the wildcard here. He's auditioning for a final shot at a starting role in 2026 so I expect him to do everything he can with the remaining games of the season. He's much farther along, from the Achilles injury, than he was at the beginning of the season and he's well rested. Both Atlanta and the Jets D are putrid at stopping the run so, if Cousins gets the play action rolling, I expect Robinson is going to have a field day. Hall will get his yards. Unfortunately, while the Falcons aren't the Rams they sure as hell aren't the Jets when it comes to throwing the ball and, with Cousins experience, I expect that to be the difference. Can we just play with Specials? Do that and I'd pick the Jets all day long and twice on Sunday. Sadly, they are not. This game is going to be a stinker and only the hardcore fans are going to waste their time watching. Falcons 13 Jets 9
Yeah, Cousins (as much as I hate the guy for how he played us years ago) is a much better QB than Penix (who is another guy that didn’t impress me in college and I don’t think he’s all that good…could be wrong of course but I was not a huge fan of his coming out) I think the Falcons will win because I think we are THAT bad…between Cousins, Bijan, and Drake they have better playmakers than we do and a huge advantage at QB.
Is he “much” better any more though? I’m not defending Penix because he looks like he sucks too but Cousins was terrible last year and his arm looked dead. He tied for the league lead in interceptions despite sitting the final 3 games. This is in a dome last year. Let’s see how Cousins looks playing outside with swirling winds in Jersey. That’s not NFL caliber velocity.
Yeah I won’t argue it…personally yeah I think Cousins is better, but not by much, fair enough… Either way, though we may have a shot, I still think we lose. We have been a bit of an up and down team…one week the defense plays well but the offense doesn’t, the next week it’s the opposite…we are very inconsistent, which is not a surprise to see in a bad team run by a rookie HC.
Am I missing something with the Cousins love here? He hasnt been good in years. If he threw 3 picks in a loss to us I don’t think a single person would be surprised.
No love for Cousins Personally I hate the guy For my part, I was just saying he’s better than Penix, which I believe, but that’s mostly due to experience. I would not want either guy as my QB
Don't get me wrong, not a fan of Cousins in the slightest. It's just that, given the fact he's been able to rest for most of the season and the level of Putridity (love this word lol) with which the Jets defense has been known to put on display, especially their inability to stop good RB's, I am not confident that the Jets are capable, on offense, of winning a "stinky play" contest. They always seem to find a way to shoot themselves in the foot. My opinions are more a lack of confidence in anything offense related than it is what Atlanta will do.
You know...those Paleolithic things called "interceptions." As rare in Jets land as is an actual Unicorn or a Pegasus!
this is essentially a given - the only more Jetsy move would be to give up draft capital to trade for a vet that a team is desperate to move on from
I can't see the Jets getting a pick all year - I saw this crazy stat that (iirc) the lowest number of takeaways ever after this many games was like 5 and the Jets are on 1
despite all the problems I still see them winning this game (mainly because it would be against the teams interests to do so but also because the Falcons do not look good)
Has Zach even played this season? Is he on the practice squad? Talk about a guy so bad it wasn't the Jets that ruined him. He was pre-ruined. Of course we picked him at no 2. Oy.
