I'm not that optimistic. Let's assume Hall doesnt fumble and the score. So 17 points.
Taylor did not have a bad game. Maybe missed a couple but by and large can't complain. Not sure what his rating was, but i use my eye test anyway.
Injuries always happen. Gw out. AVT OUT. So what. Injuries always happen. People are assuming the receivers will turn out top notch. I vote wait and ser

See this I disagree w/you just a bit. I thought Tippman was a much better center than guard. I know you felt that Tippman was lacking a bit in the line calls. I just didn't see him flourishing at guard. Perhaps Tippman prefers guard from his Wisconsin days. Agree we need to improve the position from Josh Myers - but I don't think Cade Mays is the answer & I don't see Linderbaum escaping from the Ravens.
Also - I think we have some glaring positions to address in the draft immediately before we go WR. My opinion == we need to give new guys AD Mitchell & John Metchie III a solid chance before we start crowding the WR position. Let's see what these 2 former 2nd round draft picks can do first. The initial returns on only a couple of weeks w/the team look promising.

Unless our QB is there when we're OTC (ABSOLUTELY NO TRADE-UP) -- I think we really need 1 playmaker at each DT, LB & Safety. I'm hopeful we go w/these positions early. Like the thread says ---- the offense looks promising so long as we can get a QB. And I agree with you @Jonathan_Vilma ---- I think Sam Howell would be a great 1yr option w/a 2yr contract. $hit, - I'd even consider Davis Mills. But I can't have both of those if we keep Tyrod Taylor (preferrable for me) & a draft pick investment.

This board is going to explode when we trade both firsts this year and one next year to move up for a QB lol. Actually a lot will change between now and then but no regime in this position will not take a QB in some capacity, they won't risk winning 4 games with a jag free agent, they will most assuredly never get to draft their QB.
They will take one this year high and they should because that's part of the systemic problem we have here. Coaches and GMs are typically more concerned with saving their jobs and throwing hail Mary's rather then building for the future.
Don't even start with the "why all the Glenn hate then" shit, I'm just saying anyone will save their own ass if they can and I won't blame them.

4 year rebuilds are so 20 years ago, teams can turn it around in a year and there are examples all over the league.

I wasn’t a big Howell guy coming out of school but he performed a lot better in Washington than I thought he would. Yeah he threw a lot of picks, but he had a dog shit offensive line and supporting cast.

They replaced 3/5 offensive lineman and 2/3 receivers, the starting tightend and an entirely new coaching staff (with Kliff Kingsbury as OC instead of Eric Bienemy whose been awful every where he’s been without Andy Reid).

There’s also not a lot of options out there this year unlike last year.

As far as Tippman goes, Idunno it’s so hard to tell with offensive lineman without boring yourself to death putting on the tape and falling asleep trying to scout line play. Our running lanes seem to be a lot more open this year. For whatever the grades are worth, Tippman seems to be grading out better at guard than center.

I wish I knew more about the college centers coming out. The Auburn kid seems to be really highly regarded. Florida too. It’s hard to tell because they’ve had such garbage QB play behind them. Maybe it’s worth a look for us to key in on the Auburn kid in the Iron Bowl.

Yah…about Bienemy…he was a hot candidate a few years back but so many people (including me) felt he was a byproduct of Reid and Mahomes rather than really being a core part of that success…seems that was the correct view

I'm one of them. If they deal THREE 1st round picks to grab ANYONE in this upcoming draft....well...fuck, I may have an actual conniption. I would HAVE to KNOW that said QB was going to be better than Manning, Luck or in Brady's sphere before I do that deal. Not some mid-range turd out of Indiana et. al. This isn't some team moving 25 slots up. It will be 3 or 4, maybe. I swear to you, I'll fucking lose it.

Lol, won't we all. Still, it's their job to lose and they know they can't wait on a QB.

A HUGE difference! Again, 2 x 1st's I'm cool with. Three is too much for Burrow.

At the very least, Sam Howell is a gunslinger. We need to start throwing the effin ball & find out more about these young WRs.
Unfortunately Auburn center Connor Lew tore his ACL on October 18th - so he won't be playing and might return to school for senior year.

I'm inclined to a) move Tippman back to center b) re-sign AVT w/o any expectations he'll be on the field c) let Simpson go d) sign Alec Anderson from the Bills e) draft Olaivavega Ioane from Penn St. if he's there at #33. If he's not there at 33, - I like Bisontis from Texas A&M 4th round.

Not sure I get all the love for Howell, but the pickings for vets as bridge QBs is never great, and I think he’d be better than Fields has been for sure

Is there any precedent for an unproven HC and GM in their second year after an awful first year not taking a QB high? We can gnash teeth all day about whether we think they should, but I'll be pretty shocked if they don't take a QB high in the draft. It's just too risky not to when you're likely to be fired if the team is bad again in 2026. The rookie QB also plausibly buys the HC and GM a third year since they can scapegoat him for any struggles in year two.

Get Joe B for 2 first rounders .,,nothing more

    But let’s talk reality

I doubt Cin lets him walk as they would be damned to eternity for it.

And Where’s the evidence they want to do that?

You think they enjoy trotting Flacco out there? Lmao

They won't trade him, the city would burn according to some Cincy fans I know. Pipe dream but when you have these picks/options things will fly around. I assume we are trading some picks for a QB this year in some capacity though, just waiting to see.

I don’t think it’s a ton of love. What do you do with this list though? I’m not being a smart ass I’m genuinely curious.

Assuming we have to bring a veteran in, which I think we do regardless of who we draft. Also assuming we (rightfully) aren’t going to give Daniel Jones a big contract

    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/available/_/year/2026/position/qb

I think Howell would be my first choice and then maybe Mitchell Trubisky and Malik Willis as the second and third choices. Trey Lance in the mix for the third choice too.

I'll have to say no to Lance. If Kyle Shanahan can't get anything out of him I'm not all that sure what we're going to do with him. I've watched him, he's trash. Basically Fields 2.0 with less time in the starting position.

Howell is intriguing as well as Trubisky. If we are talking about a 1/2 year bridge QB, do we kick the tires on Geno Smith? Something tells me, after the way this season is going, the Raiders are going to do what the Jets are doing and clean full house. I'd take a second roll on him. Thoughts?
