What's up Road Warrior! Hope all is well down in the Lone Star State. Glenn's rope just got dramatically shorter after today's shitshow. I would say that Glenn's future depends on what he does about Wilks' employment. If his pride won't allow him to fire Wilks, then Glenn at most has one more season before he walks the plank. He's not making the case for himself at all Mougey otoh, has made his case to be both GM and VP of Football Ops. He could our Howie Roseman if Woody is smart enough to hand him the keys to the kingdom. '25 is done. '26 is on the brink. Woody won't fire Glenn this year, but next year all bets are off. If Glenn is smart, Wilks has to be the one to pay the piper. There is no way Glenn can justify bringing Wilks back again.
At the very least, Wilks play calling must be taken away. Preferably he is fired tomorrow. Glen then needs to get this damn team back to actually trying. If he can’t, clean house, let Mougs pick a coach.
Let Mougey pick. He came from Denver. He has connections there. Maybe take their offensive Coordinator Lombardi? Anything is better than this situation and I would rather have Mougey pick who he wants rather this forced marriage with Glenn.
Boss. Lone Star state was a trip to see my high school friend and his family. Done with the travels for the year. As of this weekend, I am done with Indiana and back to Madison, New Jersey. We think alike. Glenn has 1 more act left in him. Pick his defensive coaches properly and nurture Engstrand. Moogey deserves another year or two as a lot of us are high on him. But I am about to lose it with Glenn. When he was a defensive star here with the Jets I was fucking girls in Istanbul and didn't know anything about Jets or NFL. So I have zero emotional connection to him. He is worse than Bowles and Saleh in my book. If Woody wants to give him another year, I will stomach it. But if by mid year next year we are still miserable, I hope we can him and start 2027 early. Cheers! Brook out
No excuse for Glenn here at this point other than he is not capable of coaching, team has given up on him, Coen, Ben Johnson, and Vrabel turned their teams around in 1 year while the Jets have regressed even from the embarrasement of Ulbrich. There is no excuse the Jets are a laughing stock and it has to do alot to do with the coach and his hires. Please Woody don't hinder this Organization further, and trust our next franchise Qb and a top 5 pick to a man who can't even coach up his defense and knows nothing about offense. If Woody gives him that, then he’s already punting on 2026. How can anyone retain a coach whose team goes an entire season without intercepting a pass? Glenn makes Saleh and Gase look like Parcells and Lombardi.
No Excuse for Glenn here Gotta can the entire coaching staff besides Banjo after this year, Can't let Glenn and Egstram ruin our next franchise qb, Justin Fields sucks but he terribly regressed under Glenn and Engstrand he was never 40 yards a game bad on the Bears and Steelers. Can't let Glenn and the terrible staff he hired be part of a decision and development that will make or break this organization for the forseeable future.
I dont get the benefit of keeping Glenn for 2026 from a football perspective. The only non-benefit would be that Woody would be paying this guy for another 3 years while he will be fired? 1) He can damage the new QB 2) If the Jets dont win next year he is getting fired 3) We can set up the next coach-qb combo now and let the new coach make the decision It doesnt make sense to let Glenn come back. Mougey has shown he can make decisions so let him decide. If he wants to fire Glenn he should be allowed. If he wants to hire someone else he should be allowed to decide. Lets not forget to, Glenn picked Fields. I think from that fact alone and the fact that Woody basically gave Glenn the drivers seat and Mougey was below him is dangerous. Glenn should be downgraded below Mougey but we all know its to late for that to happen. Glenn should not be the one in charge and the only way to change that is by firing him.
The benefit would be from the optics of Woody not being typical Woody. The old Woody would have erupted by now and said stupid shit because he's the owner. The "New" Woody is trying to give Glenn time to get this team headed in the right direction. Problem is, Glenn has yet to show he's the right guy to get that done. I don't think Glenn was ready to sit in the big chair. I also think Glenn might be one of those folks like Saleh who was born to be a coordinator, not a HC. We agree.. Let Mougey pick the next HC. The way it should have been from the start.
The issue to is Mougey has proven something. Glenn has not. Yet the power structure currently has Glenn above Mougey. Woody said Mougey was the sidekick. I think we may have something here with Mougey. His picks were overall good and his decision to get rid of Gardiner and Williams were also good in my opinion. The one thing that would hurt/affect Woody is if everyone cancelled their season tickets but Woody will get bailed out if they draft Mendoza because a lot of people will go for Mendoza. If the Jets dont get a QB I think it will be completely empty next year if Glenn is back.
Glenn is the one that has been running this whole show. Mougey has been the “sidekick” along for the ride. Glenn’s only achievement has been the trades. Everything else, from coaching to talent evaluation, has been horrendous. They need to admit the mistake that was made and clean house again.
The whole team regressed under Glenn and his staff. Fields, Sherwood, Jermaine Johnson, Quincy Williams have grossly regressed under this staff. Glenn does not have achievements to brag about, he is simply way over his head and not qualified for the job. We have alot of draft picks this coming draft if you wanna f up their development keep Glenn and his staff.
It hasn't just regressed, the team has completely cratered. The damage that has been done to this franchise over the past two seasons has all but assured that we won't even sniff the playoffs the rest of this decade. Retaining this coaching staff will just push the timeline for finally being competitive even further into the future.
Also Glenn made this spot less attractive. I think a year ago you could have hired a quality head coach because this spot would have been desired. Now there is nothing here. No decent coach would join the Jets.
I think Woody made the coaching spot less desirable when he bought the team, Lets get real no legit coach wants to come coach this disaster for Woody, Maybe Gruden if Woody will throw alot of money at him but he won't. Also Woody likes to meddle in the team and no legit coach will come here to coach unless he gets alot of Money and Woody and Brick stay away which will never happen. Also who would want to come coach this team when the owner is constantly yapping his mouth and throwing his starting quarterback under the bus? Only way this organization ever gets a real coach and becomes respectable again is when the Woody's sell it. Our only hope is to hit on one of these 1st time coaching hires finally that's about it.
What makes you constantly bring up a next FQB? Can we just get a guy there who can consistently run a winning offense? Anything more will come later.

Problem is Glenn wasn’t even a great DC…Saleh was and is better…Saleh got our D in top 5 form rather quickly…and as soon as he got back to SF their D is also better. Glenn took a bad D and made it worse. He took a bad O, got a better OL, and STILL made it worse also, not least of all because of HIS chosen QB. I hated the Glenn hire when it was announced and I hate it more now. He needs to go. I don’t need to waste another year watching this shit.
