Yeah, a few years ago EA Sports did this EA Bio thing where it counted up how many hours you played? I never felt more like a loser than when I had 200 hours of time spent playin EA video games

 Ahh, that is funny. Everquest and WoW have similar counters that you can check how much time you have played a particular character. Toooooo LONG!

I'm with you let's get those "recent join date posters" before they become "not so recent join date posters".

I'm disappointed. I've been a member of this board since 2001 (before the new board when everything was reset) and I FINALLY almost hit 1,000 posts. Yeah, I'm not a big poster, but jeez I was really hoping to see that milestone hit after so many years.

Why are post counts so bad? I don't believe half the people on here that don't say they don't mind. Bullshit! Its a part of that persons posting ID , I for one do look at how many posts someone has , not to judge , but I find it just part of the whole browsing the forum thing. Should we also ban TGG age tree.
Petro can do what he likes with TGG its his, and his right , but I would have preferred the culprits to be dealt with and/or a notice put up warning members of their conduct.
    Minority rules again.

put the count back and add the persons age. That would show who the hell we are dealing with. Also, other forums have this rating bar thing. I'm with manly woman lover gusto.

You wanna see someone getting abused with 20k post count? Go check out the I Must Respond thread.

Most of the time post count doesn't factor into people getting abused as much as you think. The problem is that new posters feel the need to start threads that either make no sense or contain information that can be found in 4 other threads. I know this because that is how I posted when I started. Also, good point by thegrendude above.. people with high post counts get abused too...

So they learn just like we all did. I'm not condoning bullying in any shape or form.
I know that a lot of posters that have been here a while were 'watchers' long before they posted. I didn't post for well over a year , preferring to glean information and be happy at that. But over the years this site has become MORE than just a Jets website , its become a way of life.
To flip this on its head , there have been some recent occasions on here that people with large post counts have been abused , no-one has defended them!
And what about the likes of Jeto , big post count , now posting elswhere , so big/small post counts have nothing to do with how you get treated.
Sorry had a crap day and this is the cherry.
    Bye
    JMO, but it ain't broken.

I'm with you, Gus. I don't believe I've ever abused anyone period, but that doesn't mean that I didn't notice post counts. In fact, in many ways it was unusually high counts that were a warning signal, since they identified potential non-BS Forum post whores (no such thing as a BS Forum post whore in my mind). I would have thought that appropriate treatment of people who are abusive to anyone would be standard procedure, making this sort of thing unnecessary.

It's always a couple of rotten apples that spoils the bunch... (<<<is that even a saying or did I just make it up??? lol) But I for one, don't mind the idea of post counts being eliminated at all. Quality over quantity.

I hate to be so PC but a little sensitivity on your part would be appreciated. If you were a Republican, you would never get away with that kind of comment.

Im all for removing post counts. IMO it encourages post whoring and useless posts/replys to get your post count up. This shouldnt change much though. Everyone knows how the good and the bad posters on this board are anyway.

I just noticed a few seconds ago that the Post Count wasn't visible anymore.

Oh well. Not the biggest deal. But it sucks for the new comers trying to get noticed  I guess they have to have a cool avatar or signature or something
