Why the rest of the NFL just signs guys while the Jets always have to have the guy in for a visit?

cuz they don't want to sign one hit wonders. They'd much rather see guys and possibly find the sleepers in the group and sign them. Such as Dyson last year. NFL teams are fools to simply sign guys without having them come in to work out, and interview with the team. I think that's one of the smarter parts of this jets organization. I'd much rather get a quality starter for a fairly low amount of money than have some old guy with a bloated salary that we're just gonna end up complaining about in 2 years.

and um to answer ur question..i have no idea. it bothers me actually. the jets could atleast reach out to some of these players so they can get them to visit the organization. today and yesterday i havent heard of anything involving the jets. i thought we were gonna go after Banta-Cain...has anyone heard anything about that??

I hate the fact we always look at the leftovers. I want a blue chip starter! WE always look for the deal and that is a attitude of an average team not a championship team.

Always looking for the left over. It's sickenning now. Had a major advantage going into this Free Agency period, with cap room and all, and threw it all away. Yeah, now they can sign a couple of left overs, big deal. And you watch. Joey Porter will go to Miami or the Giants.

So if it bothers you, then let it bother you and be a fan of a team who spends loads on free agents...

You are overrating free agency...Yes a player(s) can help your team, no doubt...But stop the whining.

what are the odds that 2 members with names relating to Curtis Martin would both have Mike Nugent Avys?

Teams that have officially signed a free agent (and I'm including teams that basically just resigned their own player): Patriots, 49ers, Browns, Redskins, Chargers, Jaguars, Giants, Saints, Rams, Bills, Buccs, Falcons, Panthers, Chiefs, Cardinals, Steelers, Titans, Vikings, Bengals, and Texans.

That's 20 out of 32. So it's not just the Jets who are biding their time. Have patience.

This is awesome. There are about 50 threads made by the "whhhhhhyyyyyy didn't we sign a mediocre player to huge money on the first day" whiners that this pic belongs in.
