It happens EVERY year where the Sox jump put to a nice lead then frontrunners like yourself will talk trash only to look foolish in the end.

Yea, well for the time being, the Sox have pitching and the Yanks do. All those bats are going to mean nothing if your starters cant get out of the 3rd innning (see Red Sox in 2003)

We are beat up right now, I think we are in better shape then we were the last 2 years after slow starts as long as the staff gets healthy.

Yea, but the bullpen isn't great, Mariano is looking his age (I know, he could turn it around and for my fantasy teams sake, I hope he does) and I don't trust anyone besides Wong or maybe Moose on that staff.

Mariano MIGHT be looking his age, at some point he is going to fall off but I will belive that when I see it. Until then it's just typical Mariano early season struggles, he goes through this every year. As he gets better and the staff gets healthy I think we'll be ok but if Mariano truly is heading south and if the staff cannot get it together we won't play in october this year.

Again, why bother with this stuff. Stories like these are for the kids. You are a man, one who usually brings up very well thought out topics, and sticks to facts.

This topic is a Finheaven "Depths Of The Sea"-esque thread. Pretty lame. You are above it, and it indeed does make you look like a jealous johnny-come-lately fan which I know you are not.

Don't listen to me though, my opinion and a nickel won't buy a cup of jack squat, but I just thought/think more of you as a poster than a thread like this.

    Anyway, take care.

Not every thread needs to be serious, we can have fun w/ non-stories like this.

Is it September already? Have I been in a Coma? 4 1/2 games back and the world is over?

Oh wait, it can't be September...Boston is in first place...stupid me.

Hmmm, I wonder if Schilling throws a catsup ball? That would explain the going to his ankles every time he picks up the rosin bag.

I'd still rather take the Red Sox pitching staff over the Yanks...even when they are healthy

Only very stupid people don't believe it was blood. They said on PTI today that the Hall of Fame has confirmed that the spot has oxidized and turned brown, something blood would do that paint would not. Add in the pictures of the stitches, his 9 inch scar from the operation, Mirabelli's denial of ever saying that, the fact that it grew as the game went on, and that he would have absolutely nothing to gain from it and it would be very easily revealed if it were fake, and you would have to be borderline retarded to think it was anything other than blood.
