Look past contracts and financial hits. With all of the Vilma talk this morning, it occured to me that very few players in this league are part of a group that you'd never trade, regardless of cost.

A few come to mind, feel free to add others:

    1) Manning, the one who doesn't suck.

    2) LT

I won't even add Brady to this list after watching him play last year- he is in fact mortal.

Any others you'd care to add?

I would trade Manning before I traded Brady. You take away a QB's receiving threats it makes him look very mortal, but Manning has melted down in more situations than Brady has, and PM has had some of the best receiver corps in the league while doing it.

Sudden thought: I know its off topic but remember last year when Vilma was being talked about going to San Diego for Rivers...in hindsight with Chad's success but also with Rivers success and upside do you guys do that trade?

LT is tradable. Manning isn't. Can't think of another one who isn't.

I think I do to. The only thing is Rivers has a hell of a supporting cast whereas last year with the Jets he wouldnt have had as good as a line or a good runnng game nevermind LT.

Rivers is younger, stronger and injury free so far. The Jets had success but if you really looked close at Chad I would guess he underthrew his receivers at least (and I'm not exagerating) 50-60% of the time on long passes downfield.

Rivers played with LT antonio Gates, and a great OL.

And Pennington played with Coles, McCareins and Cotchery who he couldn't reach with the ball if they were more then 25 yards downfield. I don't see your point.

LT is tradeable. In fact, if Turner is as good as many think, you might even consider it. If you could get a Herschel Walker haul for him, you might be better off. Not that the Chargers would ever do it. But LT will only be LT 2 or 3 more years.

There is no such thing as un-tradeable in the NFL. If the right package came Indy's way, even Manning is tradeable. The only prohibitive factor to trades is salary cap.

People who have been untradeable and are still playing:

    Brett Favre
    Peyton Manning

I literally cannot think of another person who is untradeable. For the people putting LaDainian Tomlinson in the category you just need to look back at Marshall Faulk and Edgerrin James to know that that's not true. If somebody offered the Chargers 2 firsts and 2 other picks for LT he'd be gone tomorrow.

Even Favre has been tradable the past few years. At his request they would have moved him if they could.
