I was happy to find myself watching this game last night, as, like everyone else on here, I am desperate for some Jets football. Several posts on this board have touted that 2004 team as our greatest opportunity in recent history to make the SB. However, upon further review, I certainly do not concur. If that team was indeed our greatest chance then this years team holds lots of hope. Tongue, Buckley in the secondary? Santana and McCareins as our 1/2? And even though Curtis won the rushing title that year I have more confidence going into this year with Jones/Washington than with Martin/Jordan (although I crtainly note the debatability.) The O-line of 04 seemingly holds and edge but even that is debatable. Oh yeah, I like Nuge better than Brien for some reason haha.
Comcast decided to take away NFL Network and not tell any of the customers in this area. I wish upon a star taht our apartments would get Verizon FioS so I could stop using comcast.
All good points and true. Chad also played a good part of the tear injured. I think the lines were better in 04. I still get a sick feeling thinking about how that year ended and how close we were to a shot at the championship game.
I was wondering why the hell I haven't had it for the past week or two! Fuckin bastards, how can they just change all the channels we get after we sign a contract to pay them for their services. That like going to a fast food joint, ordering a Big Mac, fries, and shake - then paying them only to be handed a hamburger and small soda.
The best part of the replay were the scenes when Lorenzo Neal was punking Vilma to his teammates on the sideline. "He's a boy, a little boy..." Then, NFL Films shows Vilma sacking Brees. I also forgot the two consecutive plays when the Jets D had 10-men in the game. Unbelievable. Also, that toss by Chad to Moss was probably the nicest throw he has made in his time with the Jets.
I totally agree, I should call them up and bitch them out. I think I will. Brian says that the NFLNetwork increased their prices, so now its part of some sports package you have to pay extra for.
just saw the replay this morning....god that game almost gave me a heart attack....if it werent for getting my wisdom teeth out the day before and having a shit load of vicadin, I dont know if i would have survived that boneheaded Barton hit on Brees....
It's the only bill I look forward to every year--the early bird NFL Sunday Ticket Special. This year I got it in time to get the Superfan for free which I want purely for the 30 minute replays of every game. That'll save tons of space on the DVR. Though I like the NFL Network I really wish they'd do more replays instead of the old ESPN routine of running Total Access back to back to back etc...
i wonder how much it wuld be to switch from optimum services, to direct tv or whatever nfl network is offered on
I'd switch to satellite, but I really like comcast for their internet. It's the main reason I want FioS, just as fast and no comcast. I really do need to get direct tv since I'm a Jets fan in MD.
That's fine and dandy, but why the hell am I still paying the same bill although I'm getting a lesser service? This really doesn't make sense to me. We (my family) chose our cable package and signed the fuckin 12 month CONTRACT with Comcast. If they take away from what is stipulated in the contract, then we should not still be paying the full price. ------------------------------ Flight Stewardess: "Hello sir, welcome to first class!" Me: "Hi, thank you. Can I please have one of the free drinks and the meal that I ALREADY PAID FOR and were included in the ticket price?" Stewardess: "Oh, I'm sorry sir, but the cost of drinks went up, so you're fucked! The airline will however, still be charging you the full cost of your ticket."
both lines were definately better in 04 then they are now...and i just got the chills when i read "how close we were to a shot at the championship game" even though we would have gotten owned at new england haha
I lost NFL Network through Comcast today, but I am still getting it without paying $5 for the sports package, because I also get NFL Network HD. So I guess if you pay for the HD package you still get to keep NFLHD.
I think it's ironic that a missed feild goal sunk the Charger and then a Missed feild goal sunk us in Pitt. Curtis and Jordan combo was great when it was working.
I would have to strongly disagree with those two statements... First none of the running backs on our rosters are hall of famers... You cant even compare running backs as of rite now... Our o line was one of the best in the league in 2004 and last year our o line was somewhere in the middle of the pack.. Maybe your thinking optimistic, maybe i shuld to but as of july 21st i cant see that as being true...
