Rice is a very very streaky player. He is old and hurt. I dunno. He is probably an upgrade over who we have now, but I don't necessarily know that I want to invest a 3 year deal into him.

Rice is as done as John Lynch was when Gruden pitched him.

Jon Gruden is a dreadfully awful coach...this was more personal than the failure of a physical. Rice said ? they called him aside before dinner and said they got the results from his physical and that he could either take a massive pay cut or grab his bag and hit the highway. Rice contends that (1) Jon Gruden is ?A two faced fuck? and that (2) He wasn?t even given an opportunity to get ready / show that he was ready. Most of the veterans on the defense are publicly griping about this move?

Also ? watched a local reporter interview him ? 1st?he looked like he was in great shape (granted?this is just looking at him). He said in the interview that he was going to be visiting the Jets, Giants and Panthers. He said that he was going to be very selective about where he goes?he said that he wants to be at a team that is ?right at the verge of doing something really special?right at the verge of contention ? a team where my leadership and play can make an immediate impact?.

It was a weird interview?could be optimism but they way he was choosing his words I almost felt like they were directed at Mangini. Personally - I still think this dude has a lot left in the tank.

If the goal is to win now we go and get him. He is better than anyone on our D-line. Period.

That would seem to give us the edge. I would love to see this guy in camp...he could potentially get us to another level, if even for only a year or 2.

It says after he visits the Giants today and tomorrow he's going right to Tennessee. Obviously this was all crap

There are a couple of things that worry me. 1st He didn?t pass his physical? Wow that?s a major statement. 2nd We have far more concerns on the O-line then the defensive line. All be it both still need attention with the signings of out of football players and career Back up taking starting positions or joining the rotation. Third there is no way this guy will come cheap period! And IV seen multi year contract busts before. Too risky for a 2-3 year fill in fix.
