that was huge. went to rockies game and was avidly watching the scoreboard. when I saw the 2 runs in the 9th off Hoffman (I assume), that was awesome. got rockies 3B Ian Stewart's autograph before the game, and he had the winning runs. he hit his first MLB homer, a grand slam. rockies won 9-2 and picked up a game on the d-backs, dodgers, braves, and padres. was a big night for them. I also saw on the scoreboard the yankees being on their way to losing a game to seattle and boston
Maybe, but I think we really need to hope that Beltran can drive in another 5 runs (and get that kind of help from his friends)!
Serviceable? hardly.. Pelfrey was starting to pitch better and he at least had the potential for more.
they're probably afraid of complete demoralizing the guy at this point....If I were GM, I'd be...... he's got the ol goose egg going in the bigs, that's gotta start to hurt after a while, no matter how much improvment
I guess but if it was me I would feel alot more demorilized by the fact that Lawrence is starting ahead of me than the goose egg. It won't matter in a couple weeks anyway when Pedro copmes back to take Lawrences spot in the rotation..
Pelfrey had his shot, the dude has one pitch at this point. He needs to be working on developing his other pitches so that they're at least adequate at the ML level. A pennant race in August and September is not the place to do this. I've got no problem with Lawrence starting over Pelfrey.
Ok forget Pelfrey but there is noone better in the minors than Brian Lawrence? Pretty sad state of the minor league system if that is the case.. If the numbers are going to look the same IMO might as well go with the guy that at least offers potential..
They pulled Sosa up out of the minors earlier in the year so you've got to take that into account. Humber is really the only other option, the rest of the starters down there are retreads that have already gotten shelled at the ML level in their one or two appearances this year.
