Take a stab at who you think will be the final roster?

    QB - Pennington, Clemens, Tuiasosopo
RB - T. Jones, Washington, Ware
    FB - Barnes
    TE - Baker, Ryan, Dearth
WR - Coles, Cotchery, McCaerins, B. Smith, Stuckey, W. Wright
    LT - Fergueson, Jones
    LG - Clarke, Bender
    C - Mangold, Smith
    RG - Moore,
    RT - Clement, Cavka

    DE - Coleman, Hicks,
    DT - Robertson, Pouha, Mosely
    DE - Ellis, Hamilton, Haynes
    OLB - Hobson, Spencer
    ILB - Barton, Harris
    ILB - Vilma, Kassell
    OLB - Thomas, Bowens
CB - Dyson, Barrett, Revis, Miller, Poteat, D. Coleman
    S - E. Coleman, E. Smith

A pretty solid prediction. A couple of things I might question/disagree about...

    On Offense:
I think Tui gets cut. I think Pociak makes it. I don't think Cavka makes it and will be replaced by a new signing. If they can get a starting OL, my longshot cut would be Clarke, who I think has been less impressive than Bender when you consider he's been in the league a few years.

    On Defense:
I don't think haynes makes it. Esp. when you consider that most of the OLBs can play DE when needed. Not sure who I would replace him with, but Ventrone is kinda my sentimental choice for his ST play. I just hope Tangini has the stomach for sending Kimo to the retirement home.

oh yeah, I think 2 of the final 53 are one someone else's roster right now...probably both OLs

If I remember correctly, Mr. T was pretty active during this week last year. They have some pretty good scouting of what's out there.

ok...No Cavka, no Hamilton, no Haynes, no Kassel (PUP),also #71 OL makes team. Also...Cody Spencer makes the team. He looks good.

    cavka wont make it
tui played well enough too...but probably wont
hamilton, haynes, and kimo are all borderline....depends on what the cs want to go with
dyson and miller getting healthy could mean the end for drew coleman
i think a 3rd te could make it
i'd agree with barber on clarke getting cut sometime after we sign another OG....maybe not b4 the roster is set, but similar to the way katnik was ousted

I agree a bout Tutt. I think the most likely scenario is cutting Tui and carrying 2 QBs plus Smith. It wouldn't surprise me if Mangini makes Smith the #2 QB and Clemens the emergency QB on game days, to get an extra player on the roster, like Parcells did with Tom Tupa.

Drew Coleman has looked pretty good this season, I would be surprised if he gets cut. If we do not get a veteran G, Bender will be the starter.

You can definitely go one way or another with several of the guys I had making the team. I like Ventrone and Tutt, we could definitely see Haynes and Drew Coleman not make the team. And I didn't consider players not currently on the roster, but that could definitely change if we picked up a couple of O linemen.

But would that not meant that if Chad went down early and KC came in that Smith couldn't play the rest of the game, even at receiver?

Any possibility Tutt becomes the 3rd RB and Ware doesn't make the roster?

I think both make the team, but Ware shouldn't start unpacking just yet because that is possible if the Jets need to free up a roster spot elsewhere

He could get caught in a classic numbers game just as you described it, but my gut says he made the team

Potential Guards from the CUT list...

My concern is the Oline depth - we really need to find a starter veteran OG and then Bender is a solid backup.

I was thinking the same thing after seeing Tutt playing RB last night. Ware is eligible for the practice squad, Tutt is not (I believe) so it couls kinda make sense in Mangini's "versatility is better" mindset.

This is the most accurate so far, although I see a few changes.

    1) Wallace Wright over Frisman Jackson at WR. Jackson might also make it if Pociask or Kowalewski don't make it

    2) Adrien Clarke over Joseph Villani, that is almost a definite for me. And I think Goddard would make it over Villani too.

    3) I dont think DeVito makes it. In fact, I have never even heard of him. Probably Kassell will make it over him, or Tui could make the team instead of this guy.

I don't think Wright, Clarke, Goddard, or Thompson are eligible for PS. Only first year (rookie) players, no?

Perhaps someone who knows the PS rules could chime in and clarify?

    1) agreed...there is no way in hell Wallace Wright does not make the team.
    2) Villani goes to the PS. I think it is unlikely, but if we pull in a strong Vet OG, it would not shock me to see Clarke cut outright. He's been a major disappointment.
    3) Devito=PS, and yes Kassel makes the team.
