Lets face it, we all anointed him last year as being brilliant but we are seeing he is very stubborn, and unwilling to make changes that need to be made. two in particular Start Clemens Change to a 3 4 or start Harris
I'm still hoping he'll be a good coach and with us for 15 seasons and a few super bowls. That said I have seen the NY media monster chew up people with much more experience than he has and the challenges the Jets face are daunting. I wish I had more info on how the Jet's deliberative processes work because something went very wrong last offseason and I have the feeling Mangini was not the main culprit.
They are working on changing the personnel, you can't do that in one year. Harris was probably on the field more then Barton today. He's not a genius, he's a football coach and he's been winning with smoke and mirrors the last two seasons since our team has so little talent.
Is a stoolpigeon like a coward? If so, you aren't allowed to use that word because it would make you a hypocrite, dickless.
It might have been too early to call him a genius, but I am still hoping he will be a good coach. Remember Cowher, Belicheck, Madden, all had a bumpy start and turned out well. He is still young and is learning. He is doing well with a team with below average talent and an organization left in disarray from Herm/Bradway. I am still willing to give him time and wait for him to get better players because there is obviously alot of potential there. Stubborn...maybe...but some of the best coaches have been stubborn. When you're winning everyone loves when the coach is stubborn, so lets not be hypocrits.
mangini is fine, the 10-6 was great, but it is going to take some time. i like the direction we are heading, but this is bumpy
A rant from a 36 year fan I knew last year was a fluke. Lets face it, we had a cream puff schedule and we did a few nice things. I knew going in we would be sub 500 but was hoping that a few things would happen. 1) make QB change. 2) improve the pass rush and stopping the run. Well 4 games into the season niether has happened and it is evident that Mangini is playing not to loose his job rather then to win. I'm just so so frustrated at this team. One year decent, next year terrible, its like a yo yo. Anyway, I have been ranting all day because some of you just don't get it with the QB situation. Maybe you just haven't experienced enough losses like veteran fans (remember the Richard Todds 5 incterceptions). Anyway, I'm just hoping Mangini makes some moves like play clemens and harris. This is going to be a loosing season and it makes sense to se what we have with the kid. I for one liked what I saw in Q4 against the Ravens. Keep in mind they pulled Lienart against the Ravens as he got rattled and put warner in. That says alot about KC.
Once the coaching staff realized that this is a "lost" season, Clemens should become the starter. If we start off 2-8, which is possible, and Mangini doesn't switch things up on offense and defense (playing the younger guys), something needs to be done. We have to start developing this team NOW for the later seasons. We were rebuilding last year and had a cake schedule, it's not like we're taking a step back, it's just we aren't good enough to play with the top teams yet. There's no excuse for losing to Buffalo, but the Jets aren't ready on either side of the ball to make a playoff run. Next year, after another free agency period and another draft, we should be legit again.
I don't care if a fan is one for 1 year or 50 years, it doesn't make a damn difference And this is the exact same thread that you make before
This team prides itself on being prepared for all situations. It's a false pride, because it just isn't true. I'm very happy that Eric Mangini is the coach of the Jets, but he has an awful lot to learn. This team was not ready for this season. We saw that during pre-season. Our defense is small, old and inferior. Guys that are supposed to be great, like Vilma, are mediocre. Our offense is good, and Clemens future (which may be sooner than we think) is certainly bright, but obviously we cannot rely on it to win games for us. Our defense is a severe liability for this season
Only if...I am ready for Kellen Clemens now for good. I thought Pennington played well against Miami, but his game today along with a few games from last season (Cleveland, Buffalo, Jacksonville), all prove to me that Pennington cannot be a consistent QB week to week. We need a fresh start...and it needs to happen before it is too late.
In 3 years the Stoolpigeon will be the linebackers coach for the University of Vermont. I go on three different boards and you are by far the most "limited" individuel I have ever read.. Your "mental limited capacity" is annoying and pointless, you never present a valid arguement, just mindless and limited blather. Ban this fool someone...NOW!!!
