I know many of you will say none-True Jet Fan, but the way were going what team would you like to see win it all and secretly root for. I would say the Packers at this point, who wouldn't like to see Favre win 1 more.

Back-up team? Close this thread. Well, maybe NYJATW will enter, so keep it open.

Yeah, seriously. Unless you have a close friend or family member associated with a team, you shouldn't really have a "backup" team.

I have another team I root for. It's the Steelers and I don't see why you can't root for multiple teams. The Jets are my favorite and true number one team but I root for other teams.

Well I guess it's a matter of opinion. For each person it's different whether you should have multiple teams or not:)

I grew up a Cowboys fan (young frontrunner) and then starting liking the Jets in 98 (again...young frontrunner). I've never given up on the Cowboy's though, so I consider them "my NFC team".

A guy I grew up with played four years each with the Pats and the Dolphins and I couldn't root for him ever. I rooted for him to do well individually but never his team. His rookie year, 1990, I was at the game when the Jets destroyed the Pats and I felt kind of bad for him, but I wasn't rooting for them.

I've always been a big Favre fan. I also rooted for the Pack in their Super Bowls. I like the Bengals, Steelers, Cardinals, Chargers, and Colts too. Not a lot, but I like some of the players. (Yes, I do like Peyton Manning.) I also like the Giants, and if I had to say there was a "second team" for me, it would be them.

Honestly, I just love football, and I can watch any game any day if it's available to me. I'm a Jets fan, but it's not like baseball to me. With baseball, it's the Yankees or bust. In football, It's the Jets first, then the Giants, then anyone beating up on the rest of the AFC East, then the list above, then everyone else.

LOL. SOmetimes, when I squint my eyes, The Eagles look like the Jets -- I can then pretend they've been in The Superbowl recently.

I believe anyone who has a backup team is a fraud. You should hate everyone else, everyone else is our competition and enemy.

My brother is a Cowboys fan, so I root for them a little too when they're not playing the Jets. Works out good because we only play them once every 4 years.
