A QB with "brains" would NOT throw a 1 yard pass in the middle of the field during a 2 minute drill. Chad did it TWICE!
I really believe that Chad's lack of physical ability is getting the better of his 'intangibles' and decision making.... It's gotten to the point now where Chad, who's always been careful with the football, sees routes further than 7-10 yards downfield as 'high risk' plays, because of the way his ball floats... And of course, being the mistake-free QB he's always been, he refuses to throw those passes... You CANNOT be successful with a QB who cannot and will not throw the ball to the sidelines, or down the middle of the field.... It's as simple as that
Benched. No one would want him. He is finished, but of course will remain our starter for the remainder of the year because we have another stubborn coach who commits to our starting QB. " He manages the game so well" " Chad is the hardest worker on the team" " Chad is the ultimate team player" " Chad is the last to leave" Chad loves Football" " Chad is a warrior" " Chad's teamates love him" CHAD HAS NO ARM AND WE HAVE NO VERTICAL PASSING GAME AND ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to see Chad start Sunday. 33/38, 320 yards, 3 touchdowns. Without a running game or offensive line. No Clemons anytime soon.
He completes 27 dump offs against the league's 32nd ranked defense, en route to 14 points, 2 INTs, and a loss, while only being sacked once, and touched one or two other times.... and you predict those numbers for the next game? Against a defense that just collected 12 sacks in one game? Very good logic you're applying there....
When KC gets his turn and we still suck, what will you and the other Chad-haters say? Curious. Let me guess, all of a sudden its the defense, CS, etc...
Here's what you guys don't get. A lot of the people calling for Clemens do not hate Chad. This is something you say to help sensationalize your arguments. How could anyone really hate the guy? This team obviously has a lot of problems to take care of regardless of who the QB is. This is most likely Penningtons last season as a Jet and we're not winning a superbowl. If you agree with this, why not put in the future QB and let him learn while the team take it's lumps this season? Leaving Chad in for a season that is lost does not make any sense. Pennington clearly has limitations that prevent him from being a top QB in this league. If you refuse to acknowledge that, then your man love is getting in the way of reality. If you look at yesterdays game as a "great performance" by Pennington than your man love is getting in the way of reality. It is not fair to blame everyone else and put Pennington on an untouchable pedestal. He too is part of the problem with this team, but obviously not the only problem. In the best interest of this franchise, we need to find out if Clemens can be the future before it's too late.
The defense was horrible yesterday, definitely. But at the end of the day, they only gave up 17 points. Now, against what was coming into this game the worst ranked defense in the NFL, one with multiple starters out of the game with injuries, you have to expect our offense to score at least in the 20-24 point area. The fact that this offense couldn't do that, and Chad was at the helm, is not a good thing. The defense stunk, but the offense was still in a position to win this game, and, sorry to say, love the guy and everything, but Chad can't do that. I wonder out loud, if Chad was healthy against the Ravens, with all the sacks that defense handed out, would the Jets have been in position at the end to score a tieing touchdown were it not for J-Mac's two drops? I say, no. Sorry, time to move on guys...
You must skip over some of the posts I see, there are a few people on him that hate and blame him for all the Jets woes, don't make me look up the posts, I know you have seen them. I acknowledge CP's limitations but I am sick of seeing him be the scapegoat when this team has so many glaring issues. There are more anti Chad threads on this board than anything else. I support who gives the Jets the best chance to win, while I love what CP has done over the last few years (given Jets fans something to cheer about when healthy), yeah it's time for a change, people just need to lay off the hate. Starters are CS decisions, you want to see KC, start putting some of this on the CS. With the current state of the team do you think it would matter who is behind center, yet all the sit gets thrown at one player. For what its worth I see the CS waiting to the bye week to start KC. With that goes any hope of a 1st day pick for CP too...
Anyone has a clue about football? dude, I have been a Jet fan since 69 and have followed the ups and downs of this team for decades. CHAD DOES NOT HAVE A NFL ARM. Case in point in the first quarter there was a 18 yard slant to the side which was deflected because the CB closed on the ball before the receiver could get it. The interception on our own 25 or 30 resulted in a TD. He couldnt get us in field goal position with 2 minutes left. Why? because he cant throw the vertical ball and has to checkdown to the RB for 3 or 4 yard gains. 27 balls were thrown for less than 10 yards. Yeah and don't forget that the yardage he gets is alot of running after the catch. You guys make me sick with your Chad fan club. Let me ask you a question? if we are down 2 TDs in the 4th quarter? do you honestly think Chad could win the game? of course not, no one does because the guy has no arm. You don't need to have a browning Nagle rocket but you do need the ability to throw a 30 to 40 yard pass. If you can't do that then your offense becomes predictable. After decades of agony watching this team I'm just tired. Tired of the Chad lovers out there who love his heart. Fuck that, I want a QB who can give me a chance to win and you don't have that with Chad at the helm. At this point no one would even want him as a QB because everyone knows his inability to throw vertical will ruin it for not only the WR but the running game as well.
I'm not a hater , but he gets one more shot at this before its time to pull the plug and slug it out with the rookie; really its that bad. We need to put together a 4 game run to keep up so do you think that will happen with the Giants, Philly, Bengals (that out to be really fun to watch) and then Buffalo again! We got problems! Start the kid if all else fails. I love stats like 32-35 passing and 15 in a row. The end result is an INT Gross total = El zilcho!
So Chad in the .3 secs he had to throw on that last play held the ball too long? Clemens had 4-6 secs, Chad had under a second. Chad did check down, something KC wasn't doing which is why we moved the ball all day against Buf and couldn't against Bal b/c KC was taking sacks or throwing it away. We should have scored 30. IF we don't call that dumb reverse, if we don't get the false start, if we don't get the clip, if we don't miss the FG- all things beyond Chad's control. Chad is absolutetly a top QB. He took his chances down the field when the opportunities were there. Our 1st TD drive was made up of downfield passes. His INts were NOT downfield, they were sideline routes and the INT intended for Coles could have been LC's fault(might have been had's fault but we don't know, tere was obvious miscommunication) while the 2nd one he was hit as he threw it. Chad was one of the few guys to show up in week 1, he played great gainst Miami and well against Buf. He is NOT the problem. The average running game is made worse by Chad yet jones has been alot better w/ Chad than he was w/ Clemens. I don't know where you guys are digging that point up from. The Jets are vastly superior talentwise to KC, it's not even close. KC is in full rebuilding mode we are not. We were supposed to compete for the postseason this year and we may do it but not the way we have been playing. I KNOW what I'm talking about, I post facts to back up my arguments. It's know nothings like you who continue to embarrass yourself. W/ the exception of favre(who has played a creampuff sched) the other 3QBs all have superior talent to suppot them. It has nothing to do w/ arm strength, it helps when you have immense talent across the board. I don't have blind love, I want to win and Chad is doing what he can but others are killing us. Chad has made some mistakes but he is way down on the reasons we are 1-3. If Chad kills our pasing game and kills our running game how do we have a good passing attack and why has our running game been better w/ Chad at QB than Clemens? These little things called facts, they are useful in discussions. You guys act like Chad is awful, to say he's played porly in spots is one thing but you act like he's Rick Mirer saying he makes opposing D's look great. Chad made some mistaes but he didn't kill all our 1st half drives, those cae from mistakes of his teammates when in eah drive we were moving the ball w/ ease. If he's hurting the running game why has Jones been better w/ Chad than he was w/ rocket arm Clemens? Did you notice Chad was hit as he was throwing? No problem. "To all the idiot, loser Jet fans blaming Chad. get a clue you morons. The man played really well today, the last INt was a result of pressure b/c our OL sucks. The 1st one was his fault but he played really well, he didn't miss Fgs, commit dumb penalties and allow a rookie to throw all over us. I can't take the idiots on this board anymore." I knew what we'd be seing on the oard as all game long the whiners who need a scapegot were blaming Chad for everything that went wrong.
I never blamed Chad for the last INT at that point the game was lost, there is no way he is getting us in FG position with no time outs and all the D has to do is keep the players in front of them and in bounds. Everyone knows Chad can't get the ball to the sidelines in a tight spot. I don't remeber exactly why we were out of time outs or how a QB like Chad could have had a delay of game penalty, but I'm sure it wasn't Chads fault.
yes i do because he doesnt have to read 3 recievers under 15 yards, he can look off his check off route as a ploy to the defense and throw a strike over 30 yards downfield to one of our starting recievers who both have amazing hands. our recievers are good after the catch, hey what would be great? if they caught the ball further downfield. and people make the argument about the o line but thing is clemens has timing too and people would see what its like for a qb to catch a db off guard by throwing a pass to a spot and the ball getting there relatively fast. also clemens is much more mobile and that would only help behind this line. the fact some of our recievers dropped balls in BAL shows me that A)McCareins blows but B)Our recievers arent used to balls hitting them hard in the hands, there used to Penny throwing balls accurate enough for them to just pluck out of the air. Its fun to watch, but its not gonna get much done. and I dont hate penny but he can shove his completion percentage up his ass. anytime it counted not once but twice he threw a pick on a route that displayed his total lack of arm strength, and it showed a lack of making reads too. he actually makes decision sometimes like he has a cannon.
Hey Junk. You know that guy who when he enters a room everyone goes silent and it gets real uncomfortable & then when he leaves everyone starts talking about how they can't stand the guy & wish he'd just go away? Oh course you don't, because that guy is YOU. I don't know you personally but I can guarantee no one really likes you, they just tolerate you because it's easier to debate the lamp & I'm not talking on the internet but real life yeah I know... it's because you're so brilliant & others just can't deal
Personally, I am not a Chad hater. I actually like the guy, but his arm strength is a documented deficiency. Can he get the job done? No, not by himself. I need to see the defense play well for a complete 60 minutes on a regular basis, and then I will start judging whether Chad is the achilles heal.
Maybe the reason the running game is good with Chad at QB and bad with Clemens at QB is because Clemens played Baltimore (4th in the league in Rushing D) and Chad played NE, Mia, and Buf (3rd, 32nd, and 27th in Rush D). But let's not get facts that don't support your opinion in the way of this discussion.
