I guess NFL coaches don't read this message board, so they're not privy to the great coaching minds we have here. Had they just visited this board they would have know Chad can't throw and would have put "9 in the box", as many here claimed they did anyway. But what does Cotchery know? He was only on the field running the routes and catching the passes.
We took what the great Buffalo D gave us and we put up 14 points. That's great football. A veteran QB taking what they give us and still turning the ball over on our side of the field. That's pathetic football no matter which Jets player tries to spin it.
If we lose this weekend we will be 1-4. We would have to go 9-2 to have a realistic shot at getting to the Playoffs. We have games left with Dallas, Ne, Pitt, Cincy, Phil, Tenn and the new and improved Cleveland Browns. We also have games against Was, Buf, Mia and Kc that we could easily lose. With that said we are pretty much done now. Why wouldn't we give the Qb of the future a chance to start now so he can have some extra games of learning experience.
Yes, it is. I felt very sad for Chad during the 4th quarter of that game. The one fact remains that Clemens, in one start has more big pass plays (5), than Chad does in 3 (4), and McCariens dropped another that should have been a score.
Because the coachign staff of a professional sports franchise cannot see things that way. As fans we might feel that way now, but I would never want the guys running the team I like to have that mentality. Plus, with improvement on D, we can win some games.
i agree what was with those ducks, even the long passes that he completed wobbled like crazy, i am a chad supporter but i thought he knew how to throw a spiral
Hobbes I don't know how old you are but Clemens showed flashes that even made Champ get pretty excited. Having a QB with a quick release a solid arm and an attack mentality at the very lest is going to bring some real excitment to this team. Whether it translates into more wins, who knows but at least it's fun which is really what it's all about.
Trust me the Cs sees everything we do. Tangini is a new regime with no resume so they can't bench Chad like a Parcells or Belicheck would have done. They just have to deal with the politics of the game and Bench Chad at the right time due to the Crying fans who will complain that we threw away the season to let Clemens play. Once it is safe to assume that every sane season ticket holder believes Chad no longer gives us the (ALLEGED BEST CHANCE TO WIN) he will be benched. The D is the same one as last year except we have upgrades at Cb and De. The defense is not suited for a 3-4 and will give up points. The De really only gave up 10 points last week. The last T/D was on Chad with that telegraphed Interception. We are still rebuilding. Once reality sets in Clemens will start.
Hobbes is 43. I became a Jets fan watching Namath and Unitas go at it for 800 yards, when I was a wee laddie. As I got older, It was Obrien, with Walker and Toon....
No 3 Pts was on Chad. the other 4 was on Vilmas lousy atttempt at at a tackle that resulted in a 15 yard facemask. Thats another thing that you should be looking at, during these games...How many of our defensive players are not tackling by the legs, but rahter trying to go to the upper body.
Not even "another thing" Hobbes, that is THE thing right now. Our defense is playing like shit right now, and compared to what we saw out of them last year, I am questioning the heart we have in the defensive huddle.
This is a complete propoganda job by the Jets, and the fact that they actually quote Cotchery, who was nearly sawed in half on a 5 yard pass that was thrown 4 feet over his head, is just absurd. This reminds me of the BTN network in V for Vendetta. Yeeeeoooowwww
Well it may be the case that they sat back, but because Pennington cannot get the ball out to the receivers quickly, the shorter passes had little affect. They kept us in a small box. If Pennington could have gotten more zip on the ball, sorter routes in the seems would have cause the Bills to play tighter coverage. It would have opened deeper routes. Pennington's small zone kills our running game too. There are too many defenders concentrating on the field between the hash marks. We'll never win limiting the type of offense we can run.
