    Pennington's best attribute-Play action pass
Our only chance to complete the deep ball with pennington-play action pass
A way to keep the defense on their heels instead of their toes-play action pass

i know it is not too effective unless we run the ball, but hell our run is getting stuffed so teams are still loading up, so how bout a lil play action over the fucking top. And no im not talking about this left hand fake draw bullshit that wouldnt fool a retard, im talking about full fledge, chad pennington style tuck and fake then bomb, where is it? Donde esta?

We cannot run the ball because there are 9 defenders in the box. Everyone knows Chad has a nice play action pass, but after all these years they know you have to establish the run to make it work. To establish the run you need to have at least 5 defenders in pass coverage. That doesn't happen when you only pass 9 yards a completion. Defenders stay in the box, hence no running game, hence no play action pass.

play action isn't going to fool anyone when we can't run and can't throw downfield...

We can't run because we don't stay with it. My god, they run 1 play and give up on it. What a waste Thomas is going to be unless they start using him and I don't want to here that our offensive line doesn't make holes for him. He is a great back, he will find the holes if they start giving him a chance.

We only ran good against Miami because Zach Thomas was out. It would have been another 35 yard day for Thomas if he was playing.

You can't find what isn't there. The last year Martin played this problem first started and it ended his career. (oh, and he was a good back too..wouldn't you say?)

Play action WILL work on 2nd or 3rd and short. If the other team is trying to prevent you from gaining 2 yards, then play action will still work. The D is "thinking" run. They've stacked the box against the run. So start the play out with a fake run and the D will bite hard. They're already "mentally" leaning that direction, so give them a nudge with play action, freezing the MLB or Safety.

Go back and watch Brady's first TD last night to Vrebel.

We can't run because the o-line blows chunks. The only back in NFL history who could find yards behind this o-line is Barry Sanders, and that's mainly because he got most of his yards every 5th play when he busted one for 20+. The other 4 plays were -1, 0, -2, 1 then 27! Our o-line could do the -1 to 1's without batting an eyelash and the 27 was done with just the narrowest of cracks.

    Don't agree.
I watch the game, and when they gave him the ball and ran only a yard or 2, they give up and start relying on the chicken wing arm. Never will work. We are screwed.

shaun alexander gets off too shitty starts every game i know bc he is my fantasy rb lol, however they continue to give him the ball even if he is avereging 2 yds per carry, IT WEAKENS THE DEFENSE!!! I goto wvu and our running game in the first half is nothign compared to the 2nd half because we weaken defenses, constant pounding the ball, why do u think the shitsburgh steelers have been steady for so long, they run run run, play action over the top, we abandopn the running game for what? 5yd dumpoffs, bubble screens....if we dont run against the giants, they will have 20 sacks

THANK YOU!!!! Exactly what ive been trying to say, we have no imagination on 2nd and 3rd and short, alll we do is try to hurry to the line and sneak it like a bunch of pussies

    Perfect...

  15. The OL is not great...but they arent quite as bad as they appear. It is obvious that teams totally crowd the LOS w/ 8 or 9 guys due to the lack of downfield passing threats. I'm sure if the standard 7 or less guys were in the front 7 of the D...and the linebackers had to worry slightly more about downfield passing, running lanes, maybe not big ones, but RUNNING LANES.. would magically appear

the play action pass also freezes blitzers which will give our oline an oppertunity to get better leverage, thus giving cp much needed time to float a jump ball and allow our GREAT recievers to make a play

Yeah i feel the same way...especially last week we should have ran the ball more....there's no way Chad should be throwing 20 times in a half....especially with half the the bills starters on the IR. Jones only had 12 carries....

like i said, we play offense like we are in the red zone, defenses play tight red zone defense against us, we only get longer then 20 yds if we break a bunch of tackles, when was the last time u saw a blown coverage against us? never bc our recievers cant do double moves bc A.not enough time , B. bc chad cant air it out 40 yds, and C. bc we don't see a lot of man coverage

It won't work unless you have been successful running up to that point. If you can't run, and believe me we CAN'T run, it will never work. It use to work when Curtis Martin was gaining 1500 yards a year. You don't see it anymore because we can't gain 100 yards a game with all of our runners combined.
