Funny but I never talk trash in the Yankee game threads or in what the Yankees should do threads. There are plenty of Yankee fans that agree with me on what's wrong with the Yankees and like my opinions on the Yankees. You need to read a tad better man. I talk trash about the garbage that plays in the Bronx in it's rightful place.

Part of being a Yankee fan is dealing with people like me, my team sucks I get that but having to deal with the arrogance and feeling of entitlement from Yankee fans is part of being a Met fan I deal with it.

As far as me being an asshole and prancing around the message board like I know everything I'm wondering when you missed the memo that says RichMiano is the all knowing asshole of the baseball forum. You really should check your pms more.

i have no problem with criticism on the yankees if its constructive or at least mature. comments like "Derek Jizzer, Gaybreu, and steindicker" will earn no respect from me.

twice you said that jeter hasnt done anything in the past 3 postseasons, and that is far from true, he sucked this year but 2006 and 2005 he was great.

i overreacted to your first comment but i am tired of yankees fans being typecast as arrogant, stupid bandwagoners, when some of us just love to watch the team play.

i've made posts in the mets threads. hell, even started one about firing Randolph.

As a Met fan, i had bigger fish to fry then worrying about the Yankees past few weeks. Rest assured, I took great delight in yet another Yankee 1st round failure.

But hey, at least ya'll made the playoffs and the memory of 2000 to keep your hearts warm.

As for the topic at hand, I think the Sox are going to steamroll everybody en route to their 2nd championship in the 21st century.

Sox in 4 vs the Indians.

No, it's just that you guys aren't manhandling us like you used to and now you can't take it.

Sox/Yankees banter used to be so much fun.

The comparison is not even remotely close. I've never givin a damn, and actually always rooted for the Mets. Until I joined TGG. This is actually the only place i ever even mention the Mets. I still root for them to do well. I have no jealousy towards them. Their fans i have always considered nothing more than my neighbors and people who lived in my community who rooted for the other NY team. Maybe it's just you guys here, but i have never seen anything like it and the part that gets me is that you guys don't even realize how ridiculously obsessed you look. It's constant and you try and spin it like "well, you guys do it too". Not even close. And 99% of the time it's in responce to something specific or to the general tone of the met fans on TGG. If you still can't see it,have a friend who is not a fan of either read tgg BB forum for the first time and see what they say. You guys really make Met fans look bad. It's not even the same kind of pathetic the Sox fans had pre 04,they just hated a team that actually directly effected them and i understand. You guys......actually rival their patheticness, but for no reason other than you live in the same town and thats even worse. Not all of you,but some of you.

NO I can take shit talk. I did as a Knick fan aginst Bulls fans when I was younger and currently with a number of my friends who are Pats fans. 5 minutes after the Yanks lost me and my friend go to this store on campus to get food. I have my rivera shirt and some sox fan gets in my grill saying enjoy the postseason the dynasty is over. I say im sure I will with a smirk, you can take you one championship and life time of heartbreaking and kiss my ass. Ive been to four ticker tape parades. I walk away, he then leaves and comes back to talk more shit. This is just one incident. I have worn my Yanks cap everyday on campus since the Yanks were eliminated. Im not trying to hide, I want the Sox fans to say something. I sure Yanks fans have done just as bad to sox fans but that makes sox fans equally bad. I have no problems with someone else gloating over my team, just do it without invading my personal space. But, I guess the big bad yankees and their payroll advantage over boston and innocent sox fans are victim to yanks fans everywhere

I'd say that's a pretty accurate statement, you have to remember that Boston will never ever and I mean ever be mentioned in any breath as New York when it comes to being a signifcant city. Maybe back when John Adams was running this nation Boston was meaningful but seriously what good comes out of that shithole? Ally McBeal? Boston legal?

I hate the Yankees but the Red Sox got thiers and they certainly deserved it after the wait but having to suffer through the Pats and Sox both being very good is disgusting as a native Tri-stater. At least living in Vegas I can somewhat escape it but even here I ave to deal with Bostonians and that ridiculous accent.

I'm joining with the Yankee fans on rooting for the Indians in this series as watching the Pats, Sox and Celtics being very good may drive me to suicide.

New York is a cultural city while Boston is an education(college) city.
New York has a lot of people and the city reflects that. Boston is a major college city where there are some of the best colleges in the world within miles of the city(Havard, MIT, BC, BU, etc.)
So New York has full time assholes and Boston has college age(Part Time) assholes.

I've avoided posting in this thread until now but with the way it's going I thought I would add my 2 cents. As a lifelong Yankee fan it's never fun to lose but this year wasn't bad at all. It took about an hour to get over it. The fact we even made the playoffs was a plus after the way we started out. Our starting pitching and middle relief sucked all year and we still made it.

We have a bunch of good young kids who will be in the starting rotation next year and that can only help. We have 60 million in bloated contracts coming off the books for people who will never be back. If Arod leaves we have 30 million more. That would give us 90 million + another 100 million in additional revenue the first year the new stadium opens. If I was a fan of any other team I would be getting real nervous.

We are probably only 1 Santana away from being as dominant a force as we were in the late 90s.

So really, it's not all that bad afterall.

Haha, so basically as long as you get the most dominant pitcher in the game, you'll be fine? So will about 15 other teams.

Anyway, get the Yankee talk out of here. This is a thread for the ALCS, which has nothing to do with the Yankees. They were eliminated, remember?

Yeah, but what would you have to give up to get Santana? Gotta factor that in too. As a MEts fan, I'm torn whether I'd give up Reyes. Before this year, I'd say no way. But it seems really good shortstops grow on trees now. Maybe you get Santana, get a stopgap good fielding guy, & then make a run at Hanley when he eventually leaves the Marlins. Lets face it, Mets with Santana instead of Reyes would be a much better team.

NY has some pretty good colleges within a short area such as Columbia , Fordham (especially for broadcasting), NYU and I'll even put Rutgers and NJIT in the mix.

I'd say for the most part people in NY get a bad rap for being assholes as I've only encountered them on the roads but I do that with these stupid Californians in Vegas. I'd take a New Yorker any day of the week over one of these assholes Los Angelans. Boston is never talked about even though I've met more obnoxious assholes in that city than any other in the world. Although I did nail a nice waitress when I was in Boston for business although this was before the Pats and Sox had as many fans as they today.
