Having a strong bullpen might be the hardest thing to possess on a baseball team, and it's also one of the most important aspects of a baseball team.
I love how the red sox are using as a lefty specialist a guy who can't get lefties out. big hit for nixon, but poor job baserunning. he should have taken 2nd. not that it looks like it will matter. gas can borowski ready to come in. maybe the worst closer in baseball and arguably the worst arm in the indians bullpen
so papelbon and okjima were good, delcarmen was wild, gagne was awful as usual, lopez sucked and was wild, and lester comes in and just piles on onto bottom of 11th
Jesus Christ. Gagne sucks. Lopez should never have been on the roster in the first place. Lester shouldn't be coming out of the bullpen. At this point, Beckett is starting game 4 after throwing just 80 pitches yesterday. Why not use Wakefield? EDIT: Lester shouldn't be coming into the game in the middle of an inning, not out of the pen in general. He should start clean innings only, with more than enough time to warm up.
I'm sure Francona would prefer that, but they were out of relievers at that point. as for the game 4 thing, neither manager has officially decided. I would be in favor of bringing back the starter on short rest, to take advantage of the extra day off and have them on full rest for game 7
and borowski was pretty bad, but Julio Lugo bailed him out. Lugo and Drew were completely awful signings, and Daisuke is extremely overpaid.
Maybe Gagne can slink off into the NL central where he may be able to get out of an inning in the future.
Okay...... So I guess instead of high scoring, back and forth games you enjoy 2-0 "thrillers" instead:breakdance:
and dont forget the pitcher standing on second base with a jacket on:lol: But the N.L has the double switch! oooooh, brain surgery....National league is garbage.....
4-5 hours is an unreasonable amount of time to watch a baseball game. it seems like any of these playoff games or any red sox/yanks regular season game lasts this long.
