Boomer & Carton talk to Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum on the state of the Jets and their 1-5 start. http://www.wfan.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&audioId=1073016
Good stuff JoeGreen. Excellent interview and all the questions we are asking were put to Tanna. Not surprised that he was toeing the party line with his answers but he seemed genuine. The Jets organisation are aware that we want some results or changes especially at QB and they might not be too far off if we lose Sunday.
What I think is most interesting is not what Tannenbaum is saying (lots of boring "we're a team" soundbites) but the fact that he's been so prominent in the media over the last week plus. How often would we see Tannenbaum in the media last year? Not very often. Now it seems like everyone and their mother is interviewing him. That to me smells of PR damage control by the Jets. They're trying to spin their horrific start into a positive and putting Tannenbaum out there to preach "we have a plan".
I think they're trying very hard to take pressure off of Mangini. Making Tannenbaum available to the extent that they have relieves Mangini from being the sole source on explaining what is happening at the moment. Smart move on their part. Not that it'll matter if the Jets keep losing.
