i have waffled back and forth on this issue as i am sure the geniuses running the show in hempstead are as well......

a few weeks ago it would appear they targeted the bye week as time for the change. thats the usual pattern in spots like this. maybe they did but there are a couple of things to realize with that.

    1. the jets just lost again - with another int return for TD. mind you folks - CP playd OK and did almost everything he was asked. but for gods sake there are just to many check downs and outs that something is wrong. seriously wrong.

    2. bills up next - not a terrible opponent to go up against - especially since we already played them this year so the tape is fresh.

    3. home game - even at giants stadium it will be a bit easier for KC to start in NJ.

    4. bye week - use the buy week to pick apart the play of KC and make the inevitable many corrections for the 2nd half of the season.

make no mistake about it folks - the jets are just as confused about this behind closed doors than most of us are......and rightfully so......

i expect not only the QB change but a few other positions as well - LB, safety, maybe DL but the alternative choices are not real rosy are they??.

So i guess we'll find out later this week and hopefully things work out for the new starting QB.

I agree clemens time is now. Jets have to sell out its home games at least since this season will already be a waste when it comes down to wins. By playing Clemens it will keep the fans in the seats thus making money. Let's not forget when it comes down to it the NFL IS ALL A BUSINESS!!!

This is just a sad sad state of affairs in Jetland. What a complete disaster. Last year seems like ten years ago. The only flicker of hope is that Kellen can be the guy down the road, and players like Harris and Revis and Rhodes can be cornerstones for a revamped defense in the years ahead. I agree that guys like Vilma, Robertson, Dyson and others will all be gone. Perhaps Chad will be traded as well, a sad end to his time here.

It is time for Clemens, but don't anyone think that it is going to change things. The Jets would still be 1-6 if Clemens had started the last 3 games. The defense is just awful, and Clemens can't change that. At least he can get some real game experience.

I don't agree, I think we could've won some games with Clemens. It's about getting a spark to happen, just like Chad did when Vinnie went down. He should of came in 5 games ago.

I've got to disagree with the blanket statement. There have been games where effective play by the offense after halftime would have won the game. I don't think the Jets would be better than 3 and 4 with Clemens in, but it has taken all of Chad's efforts to lose games after halftime. Seriously, the pattern of ineffective drives in the 3rd quarter followed by disastrous drives in the 4th is just too pronounced at this point. It's almost as if Chad has been subconciously throwing them away.

hahahaha.... TD pass... That's a good one! Chad throws up 3 jump balls at the end of another abortion and on the last one the ball bounces off of a player laying on the ground and Cotch grabs it. Yeah, what a laser strike.

I see 280 yards passing, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception(which by the way Coles admitted was his fault. That particular play is a timing pattern that requires Cole to comeback to a spot and the ball is there. He fell and wasn't where he needed to be) coupla more abortions like that and we can get a defnse to keep a team under 30 we may actually win a game

No, that is your opinion, you don't actually know if they would have that record. I'm of the opposite opinion, I personally think we'd be 4-2 right now if Clemens had been starting, but of course I can prove that no more than you can prove yours.

I can only point to the fact that Chad's INTs sealed games, that we had leads in each of those games, and that each of those defenses got humiliated by other young QBs that don't have all that much exp themselves.

It's not my ass on the line though. If Clemens wins the next 4 games convincingly then Mangini is going to rightfully be taking an extreme amount of heat.

The reason we need Clemens to play is the defense. The defense has no ability to stop anyone so we need to try and outscore the opponent. Chad seems to have serious issues when the team is down generating points since he forces the ball. With Clemens we know he can get throw the ball around the field and score points in a hurry if necessary. I'm not saying he will do this but he has the potential to do this. A qb like Clemens with Coles and Cotchery has the potential to be something special and put up some serious points. We need a ton of points, not a qb who checks down immediately. The personnel on defense is one of the worst in the league I've ever seen and this is mainly do to the lack of a nose tackle or real pass rusher. We need points more then ever to make up for this.

I've actually been watching Penny play all year. Duck after duck has taken months, if not years off our receivers' lives. Failed late game drive after failed late game drive has broken our hearts. Check down after check down has allowed opponents to stack the box and negate TJ and Leon.

It's time to let go bro.

Right. And Chad suffered a high ankle sprain, and rehabbed like hell and the CS put him back on the field.

It is no surprise that after 30 minutes of football, a guy that isnt all that strong to begin with, wears down, more and more as the game drags on.

Secondarily, if you really pay attention to the post game stuff, Takeo Spikes
pointed out that the book is to put a safety deep, and force the checkdowns, now the other obvious part of that is playing the corners soft...

So what happens....Early in the game it looks great, but as the second half goes on they start creeping closer, and closer and closer.....And by the time
you realise it, Chad has no where to go....

After Clemens play picked up in the Baltimore game, they should have started him against Buffalo, but I think they wanted to avaoid a controversy.....

Well, what do they have now?
