No matter where we are on the field...no matter what our record is...no matter how much time is left in the game...let's never go for it on 4th down...even when we are in enemy territory...Go back to being a ball boy!

Sorry punting was the right call.
THere was plent of time left in the game. Our defense was solid the whole game. I dont think Mangini should be second guessed on that one.

Honestly that was the right call. And if Revis gets that pick everything works out. But that's why they are paid the big bucks, to make calls that workout.

6-3, still in it, you have to punt.

If, If, If...every week someone says "IF" this would have happened IT WOULD have been the right call--guess what... "IT" didn't happen...it was the wrong call...we lost again...get a clue

    no you don't

  9. Ok and if we go for it on 4th down...Jones get stuffed...and Buffalo has the ball at midfield and casually runs out the clock...what do you say then??

we lose either way, so no point in debating that. but what if we went for it, got it and maintained possession, than we are in position to possibly tie or win.

bad argument. since we already lost the game, providing another example of how we would have lost but only in a different manner provides no counter to the position that we may have won if we had done something differently.

  11. My point was that this team is so bad right now, there is no need for second guessing.

I would say at least we showed some balls and went for it for once...every time this year that we have punted and turned the game over to the defense the other team either went down and scored or ran out the clock...look it up...guess what...it happened AGAIN today.

They've given up on the season. This is where bone head personnel moves by the Coach can result in a season or career ending injury. Might as well just put a target on Clemens if you're going to throw him into a game where the team hasn't moved the ball all game and he has no choice but to air it out.

at 1-7, you go for it on 4th. down. You ain`t making the playoffs, both the Dolphins and Rams had already lost, so going for it on 4th. would have been the better call even though the punt pinned the Bills at their 3. What if the Jets would have gotten a safety after pinning them and lost the game 6-5? I`ve seen it happen. Actually I was there when it happened(1984 vs Colts. Jets 5, Colts 9).

4th and 3 and a very good chance that Chad cannot convert. I certainly would not have wanted him passing at that point given the pick 6's he has thrown so far.

You make a good point. The way our offense has been playing it would make more sense to punt on first down.

You have to go for it. Jets have the worst d in the league, wasn't moving the ball, and it was your last shot. 1-7, why use look at the percentages now.
