is it any fun to be a player on a team that doesnt win, and then take a pay cut? no! these players will go elsewhere.
overpaying in FA means selling the next 5-8 years of a franchise for 1-2 good years. i don?t say spend nothing. I say spend it wisely only to guys who help us long time and are at the right price.
I'll wait until JI04 chimes in on this one, overpaying for Thomas was stupid but we haven't been spending a lot and money management is the last thing I am worried about with Tannenbaum. WHO we pay that money to is another story, but I don't think we're even approaching cap hell.
i guess nobody has paid attention to the title of the thread having a question mark? not an exclimation point!
is it in the future?is our FO going to go on a spree? or are we gonna win 1-4 games a season for the next few years if we dont? did you ever think like this or do you always just babble?
Okay, carry yourself with some class. You don't need to attack with a personal jab at all the posters. You made a post with virtually no punctuation or sentence structure or capitalization and provided no argument for what you were saying. I'm pretty sure we're in fine shape with the salary cap, and you made absolutely no argument and gave salary numbers which showed absolutely nothing.
Do I just babble? I bet last year you were one of those fans who thought Mangini could do no wrong. Now we have a crappy year due a combination of bad coaching, horrible qb play, wr's dropping passes and a front 7 on defense that sucks. I do not think our front office believes that you get good by throwing money around in free agency. I think they believe you build a team through drafting since it's much cheaper and it lets you develop the player. The Jets are much better then 1 or 2 wins and not as good as a 10 win team. When Belichick was hired he said he thought it would take 4 drafts to get his team in a position to be competitive for a superbowl every year. If they hadn't gotten Brady earlier it probably would have been true. You have to have some patience, Mangini and Tannanbaum are slowly fixing the roster the right way. One or two big free agent signings is not the answer. In two years players like Robertson, Pennington, J-mac, Barrett, Dyson, Eric Coleman, Clement, Clarke will all be gone. You can only fix so much of the roster in two years.
thanks for being my english/grammer teacher. i see jabs on here all the time, even in my direction.(go look at dressens first post on this thread, is it not a jab?) where are you then? i showed this boards records, not my own as an example to what could possibly become of the teams future. maybe you can up date them(the records). maybe you dont understand what im trying to get across, which is our front office is apparently going to go on a spree, or suffer through some more years. so enlighten me.
You provided a half-assed argument and pretended to bolster it by pasting some numbers that you think supported your point, but you didn't illustrate it in a fashion that made any sense.
if you read the earlier comment i wasnt trying to prove anything. Other than our management sucks. i used the numbers as an example, and even said so. the thing is everybody on here wants to argue the opposite of what is posted simply because the dont initially agree. the point is simple, i cant help it if you dont see it!
So, basically, you just started another 'The Front Office Sucks' thread, just under a different and weak premise. Gotcha. I think Mack would prefer to get brownies from me, mine will fuck you up.
So far, all you have done is the following: (1) Create a thread with no basis or logical reasoning behind posited ideas. (2) Post a "question" with an obvious answer, only to incite others. (3) Attack posters who actually replied to your stupid question. (4) Complain about getting reprimanded for your attacks. Wiggle around it as much as you want, but your actions just scream trollish behavior.
