OK, it was cold. It was pouring down rain! We were watching two of the worst teams in the league duke it out in the "Loser Bowl."

So how does the organization reward loyal fans who actually show up? No Beer. Not a drop sold in the entire stadium.

WTF! How did this happen? Why on earth did they do that??

That's BS. If you're driving, you shouldn't be drinking anyway. Why let a few bad apples ruin it for everyone.

This thread tops off the season for the reputation of Jet fans. I've had tickets for 28 years and I am convinced more than ever that a majority of the fans care more about tailgating, getting drunk, watching cheerleaders, and harassing women than watching football. This thread is an embarassment.

Come on - what's wrong with throwing down a few on a Sunday? Sometimes (like in the middle of a really, really, really, really, really boring game) a man needs a brewskie.

There's nothing wrong with it until it becomes the reason people go to the game rather than the game. Then it is a problem. If you are that concerned with beer sales at a game that you make a post about it when the rest of the board is doing a post mortem on the season, your priorities are out of whack. If the beer is that important, stay home and drink to your heart's content. It's cheaper, you don't make an ass of yourself in public, and you don't drive home drunk. I've gone to enough games and alcohol is the cause of most fan misbehavior at Jet games. Jet fans embarassed themselves this year with the cheering of injuries to Jet players, half empty stadiums until the middle of the 1st quarter, half empty stadiums in the 4th quarter of close games (why stay when beer is no longer on sale) and the whole Gate D fiasco.

I cannot agree with you more on this... There really is more to NFL games than tailgating and beer sales in the stadium.

And its the individuals right to be able to drink responsibly which the majority of adults do , if you want a nanny state then keep thinking that way.

    Get off your high horse.

We go out and spend our Sunday afternoon watching two of the shittiest offenses to ever step onto an NFL field in cold, wet weather and can't have a few beers while we're watching? Fuck them.

Having a few beers while watching the game doesn't make you a criminal, nor does it make the experience all about the beer. I don't know about you, but having a few beers doesn't make me act like an asshole.

I don't think anyone is going to the games as an excuse to drink. Like you say, people can just stay home and get drunk. But drinking is a big part of the game-day experience for a lot of people. Why not? It makes it more fun - it's just a game after all. Granted, there are a few bad eggs but that's always gonna be the case - might as well ban drinking entirely in this country if that's your standpoint.
