Knowing that there is just a slight possibility that someone MAY have a different opinion than you,why would you even approach someone and ask their opinion if you are going to end the conversation when it doesn't suit your negative viewpoint?

I only tease because I too went on a cruise in early 07 (Before the season) and bumped into a Jets fan. We talked Jets football and even started Chants as we passed each other going to the events on the ship. I was very critical on how the NFL saw the Jets regressing for the coming season but he was the opposite. He felt that we had a real easy schedule last year and not to expect too much. I was able to make some sort of a dent in his outlook but hey it turns out he was correct and the Jets did regress. I still think you sounded off if not your normal amount , at least a little bit ....come on say it .....you broke down whats wrong with the Jets .

Hey, I'll give Champ credit. For the first time ever, I've seen him actually have a plan. Maybe it's not his own plan, but it's a start.

Nope not at all sorry to bust that bubble. Actually my HO of others that are wild eye over the NYJs is that only time can change them. MHO surely will not. It is nice to know besides some on this board there is at least one other realist out there(the guy you met on the cruise)

I love how you always write "MHO".

Your opinion is anything but humble. If someone doesn't agree with you that there is nothing positive about the Jets, then they're wrong "IYHO". That's not at all "humble".

Hey champ I need to try and see if I can get you to expound on how you think the Jets will do this coming season. I think there’s way too much deficiency to see any progression this coming season, how about you?

As I asked hundreds of times before give me the positives. Not silence the positives. We are already ferreted out Harris-Revis & Rhodes. Have any other additions? You constantly make charges but you never/ever post the postives when asked. That is NEVER. If you want to prove to me we have positives POST THEM or stop posting BS

With an attitude like that, you might just get a responce. I was gonna share my opinion, but since it isn't the same as yours i think we should just end the conversation so we don't ruin the rest of the day here on TGG.

You must have been really shocked when you got that e-mail. Because you must have figured that the guy would still think the Jets were Superbowl bound - right? Especially after they missed the playoffs by a mile and, therefore, are not in the Superbowl. Must have been quite the surprise.

    How is this a solution?

Tell us who the Jets should replace these 8 guys with and how they are supposed to acquire these new players. That would be a plan. "Cut virtually everyone" is not a plan - it's just annoying negativity.

    Wrong genius.

First of all, you NEVER ask me for my opinion. You simply follow me around, and dispute whatever I say. So why don't YOU stop posting BS.

As for positives, I post them all the time. You just don't agree, and therefore, I can't possibly be right "IYHO".

While I realize that this is nothing but an exercise in futility, I'll humor you, if for no other reason than to see what goofy response you manage to spew afterward.

    Positives:
Nick Mangold is a stud center.
D'Brick is not a bust, and actually quietly had a great year.
Pennington is the best backup in the sport.
Thomas Jones had 1000+ yards carrying behind a line made of Swiss Cheese.
    Baker is a good TE.
Cotchery is a great #2 WR.
Coles can still be a #1 with a good QB throwing to him.
Clemens might be that good QB, or hell, maybe even Chad is, if we can fill the holes on the line.
Leon Washington is a great second option in the backfield, and an electric talent in the return game.
Miller showed no signs of falling backward from last year before he got hurt.
Vilma next to Harris can be a force.

Is that enough to answer your question?

Now how about you man up and go answer the questions posed to you in a thread solely dedicated to you.

first of all not every starter is going to be good in a football team your going to have one or two great players surrounded by good players and a couple of ok players who will get better, if you had nothing but good players in your team you would have a pro bowl roster...

all the jets need is a real good guard to replace kendall, put clement to be a backup via draft or free agency grab a good starting right tackle, a real good nose tackle, switch from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and ocassionally switch in game to a 3-4, number 1 corner, we have enough number 2's, good backup linebackers, and let clemens come into his own, unless we trade chad to the browns so that the browns have a good backup in case quinn sucks, no sense in having 2 qbs who you dont know how they will work out for ya, with i guess some draft picks or whatever to get anderson. if the browns lose anderson they will have 2 unproven QB's if they have chad atleast they have a shot to win some games.

I personally love this guy. A fatalist, it's hard to juggle knives and not stab yourself in the face. I admire that.

OK see when I say give me positives I mean from anybody which includes you. When ALL are the silent to me that means NONE of you have the slightest positives to offer.

Now the Brick when a HOF OL rates him as semi decent how can you say he actually quietly had a good year? He is a negative not a positive at least in my book.

Cmon now 1,000 yds for TJ in a 16 game season is NOT an acheivement. That is a whopping average of 62 yds per game. Jury is still out on this player.

    yes M/gold is a asset

Baker is medicore player. A dime a dozen in the NFL. Does nothing to improving the team

Crotchery is to slow to be a #2 if KC is the starter. To improve the team we need big speedy D/field guys to take advantage of KC arm.

Coles is getting old & is 1 concussion away from retirement. At this point he is more a negative then a positive

Jury still out on KC. 1 positive for him is he can certainly flick that rock.

    LW is a +

Actually I agree with JM he was showing some signs of becoming a formidable defender before getting injured

Nope JV is a terrible negative or minus to this club sorry to say

So all in all at least in my book you came up with more negatives then positives. But keep trying scour the NYJ roster maybe there is few golden nuggets there that I have missed

You shouldn't talk to such fucking idiots and if you do, don't post it to try to make us stupid.

I gave you a list, I can't do that for anyone else, but I provided you a list.

I don't give a damn who rates him whatever. How many sacks was he personally responsible for this year? Who was he responsible for blocking? Who was next to him?

He quietly had a good year, as I said.

Behind our OL. How you can't credit him for that is beyond me. You yourself have gone on and on about how bad the line is. No passing attack, and a line that couldn't block a high school JV team.

1,000 is big in this case.

    Okay, we agree there.

He's a mediocre blocker, which I've been saying for years. But he has great hands, and that's an asset.

He's not exactly slow. We don't even know what level he'll get to with a good QB with time to throw either. And he's tough. He fights for yards. You want fast and pretty, get TO. You want tough and yards after first contact, get a Cotch or Coles.

I wouldn't go as far as him being a negative. See above.

I will concede that he is dangerously close to being done.

Those are positives. That's what you asked for.

I'd add in his ST play as well. The guy is a great kick returner. Better than Leon.

I don't agree. This is one that is still left to be answered. If he's still here next season, we should get our answer definitively one way or the other. With Harris already playing well, Vilma's got no excuses. I'm willing to see if he can get it done because I think he can.

I don't understand what else you want. As I said originally, we were going to disagree. However, that doesn't make me wrong. Nor does it make you wrong.

Yes, there are more negatives right now than positives. We're a 4 win team, with a team pursuing perfection in our division. Does that mean there's nothing to look forward to next year? Not in my opinion. We have talent. We are just missing some key positional players, and we can compete.

I think you should know that I'm Chris Hansen with Dateline CNBC and we're doing a story on Online Jets Fan Preditors.

Mind telling us what you're doing naked in the kitchen with a six-pack of beer and a dozen green condoms?
