The New York Post reports this morning that the New England Patriots has filed paperwork to trademark the phrases ?19-0″ and ?19-0 Perfect Season? in advance of this Sunday?s Super Bowl matchup with the New York Giants. The team filed the applications three days before the AFC Championship game was played. The Pats say that the move is strictly business and not motivated by arrogance. The New York Post has filed their trademark application for the rights to ?18-1″
This is about the 100th example of arrogance from the organization, the media in Boston and the fans that has been set in stone in advance of the Super Bowl....
How can you trademark numbers? So now the Pats can sue anybody that reports that a team is 19-0? What if a game ends 19-0?:rofl:
Have they already been selling something with this on it because if they have not then they have no right to trademark it. From USPTO: "Use in commerce" must be a bona fide use of the mark in the ordinary course of trade, and not use simply made to reserve rights in the mark.
Hah, I've mentioned this before, but the New York Post ran "*caught cheating" in the conference listings section all year long. Say what you will about that rag, but I love it. Is it any wonder? AFC East *New England Patriots Buffalo Bills New York Jets Miami Dolphins *caught cheating Hehe. I couldn't find a link, but I swear to you it's true. I'm going to the convenience store for some coffee. I'll buy a copy of The Post and scan it in if they're still doing it. I wouldn't be surprised.
Unbelieveable the arrogance that franchise top to bottom, including the fans, portray. Just remember...this dynasty can't last forever..and when it falls...what goes around comes around.
That's one of the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Is this to stop people from selling "19-0" t-shirts.. ? I don't think they can do that
i know people want to call them arrogant, and trust me i hate those bastards, but nobody was saying nothing when the bears did there super bowl shuffle video
