Alan Faneca's agent denies that his client as signed with the Jets. "False report. It's a false report," agent Rick Smith said. ESPN's website reported the two sides agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract. It appears Faneca is still weighing offers. He could easily wind up with the Jets, but there's no deal yet. See were still the same old i did see on sc that fancea did agree to a TENTATIVE deal so i stll think we will get him though
Relax, he said that they won't decide until Saturday. He can't come out and say that the rumor is true just yet. The Jets are the ones pushing hardest for him, Faneca's agent said they will only make one visit and that is to the team that will be signing him, and all reports said he was scheduled to visit the Jets on Sunday. They're just being careful not to say anything before they officially get it done. Everyone just calm down.
I love Jets fans. As if his agent denying a published report is some big shock and that all of a sudden the deal is definitely not going to happen. Only Jets fans react like this.
Dude only this scenario can happen to the Jets. Even if Faneca agrees. Only this could happen where Jets fans come crashing back down to reality.
Thank you, ESPN's Michael Smith. If this falls through, I think we're allowed to bomb his house with hot garbage.
Faneca will be a Jet. They just don't want to announce it yet. This will not be Winfield all over. Trust me. How do I know? I have a good feeling for some reason.
This scenario happens all the time. A reporter gets a scoop, publishes it, the agent has to deny it until all terms are agreed upon. You're right about the Jets fans part, though. This is the only fanbase that would jump off a bridge at something as standard as this.
Standard? This has happened before! Pasqueralli reported the Jets and Antoine Winfield AGREED IN PRINCIPLE to a contract. And what happened? Minnesota swoops in and steals him. Now another ESPN reporter says the Jets and Faneca AGREE IN PRINCIPLE and SF and STL could swoop in and steal him... Sorry that I'm not confident and am very worried, since this HAS happened before.
