I watched quite a bit of the combine and didn;t see this guy at all. I was just checking the Pro Day results for San Diego State and saw these numbers and thought it was a type. He's name is Chaz Schilens, didn't hear his name all season during college football, and noone seems to have taken notice since the SD State Pro Day either, but I bet he'd go in a later round, and could be a faster type of Marques Colston....here are the actual results: ? WR Chaz Schilens (6-4, 208): Ran the 40 in 4.38 and 4.39, had a 43-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 3-inch long jump, 4.25 short shuttle, 6.84 cone drill, and ran position drills. I'd like to see some video... Full list of Pro Day Results: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story;jses...0d5d806b4a39&template=with-video&confirm=true
Dunno, that's what video's for.....but Plax doesn't do that, neither does Colston, they just catch balls that 5'10 DBs can't get to. For a guy like this, the key skills are breakaway speed and ball skills.
I read a little bit on him... i feel like he could be a 6-4 chansey stuckey. he has a foot stress fracture like him. Late round pick that couldn't do anything but help us.
If he couldn't make an impact and produce in college with those physical skills, how on earth would he do it in the pros?
At that size and with that speed, there is a reason I don't know it, why he isn't being talked about. He probably has titanium hands and a dumbass. He probably couldn't fake that dude in the browns with two chicken sandwiches for knee's. He plays at a super shitty school he sucks.
NFL Radio just talked about him. Randy Cross said that he did commentary for one of SD States games the season ebfore last and this WR was the one guy on SD State that people were talking about, but SD State's O-line and QB were so bad that it didn't matter. Basically, they were saying that there's no way he is totally off the radar, but he is proably a small blip. Most likely a second day pick. You seem to know a lot about him though, can I get a link to the game film you watched?
If he is that big and that fast and nobody is talking about him it means he can't catch. Just a thought.

Draft Scout Player News 02/14/08 - PRO POTENTIAL: WR Chaz Schilens' season was slowed by a stress fracture in his foot, but he has the size (6-4, 225) to be a big, physical target at the next level. He needs to improve his straight-ahead speed to attract scouts, but he has the frame to garner attention. 12/01/07 - WR Chaz Schilens can put together quite a finish to an injury-plagued senior season with another spectacular game. He has 14 receptions for 389 yards in his last two games and could make a statement with a productive game against the No. 9 defense in the nation. 11/27/07 - WR Chaz Schilens is exploding onto the scene now that he's recovered from a foot injury. A week after getting 215 yards on eight receptions against Air Force, he went for 174 yards on six catches with one TD against TCU. Another game like that actually could land Schilens in the top 10 in the conference in receiving yards. 11/21/07 - Better late than never, WR Chaz Schilens burst on the scene with his eight-reception, 215-yard performance against the Falcons. He was slowed earlier in the season by a sprained foot, but his 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame will get him a look after his college career ends Nov. 24. 09/25/07 - WR Chaz Schillens did not play because of a bruised foot. He's awaiting the results of a bone scan to see whether the foot has any structural damage.
So now we need Chad Pennington on WR corps as well? Oh, this one is a WR without a leg. Complements the QB without an arm rather nicely, I think.
For those of you who remember Mike Mamula. This was a player the combine was built for. He wowed all the scouts with great combine #'s...... He was the #1 pick of the Eagles and was a huge bust! ? WR Chaz Schilens (6-4, 208): Ran the 40 in 4.38 and 4.39, had a 43-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 3-inch long jump, 4.25 short shuttle, 6.84 cone drill, and ran position drills. The next time they run these events in a NFL game, we should call him.
He has a couple highlights starting at the 4:05 mark that I noticed. Its blurry, but he's #1
Kind of like if a QB can't even win a starting job outright in college, means he's not NFL caliber. Oh wait, what ever happened to Tom Brady who NE wasted a 6th round pick on... Wayne C was not on anyone's radar, was not drafted, and did pretty well. Don't think anyone is claiming this guy is any sure thing, just an intruiging prospect as a diamond in the rough maybe? Longshot, sure, but isn't that what makes the "supposing" fun?
