C'mon man, the guy scored a 4 out of 50 on the Wonderlic...It's a wonder the guy can even tie his own shoes.

I know, they are about 8 inches thick. Its complex shit. But if you are the #1 rated pick and you don't know it after 3 months of living it through classrooms and watching your team live, film etc than there is a problem... hell not even all of it, maybe just 85%.... i hope for Russell's sake he knew 85%.

3 months should be enough to learn a playbook.

Do you have an idea what an NFL playbook entails. How big those things are. This isn't pop Warner football, with limited amount of plays. Its just not knowing the plays, but you have to know what each player resposibilty is on each play, what defense the opponets are in.(will that play work ) How many Times you see a QB get PO, when he has to burn a timeout ,because the WR lined up in the wrong spot.

Training camp is the time when a coach can work with a young qb .

ONce you get to the regular season, the head coaching is worrying about the next game/opponet. Not the third string QB. Raiders had the QB coach (who had most of dealings with russell) Working every Day before and after practice to catch up. (Breaking down defenses on film, Working on technique, going over the plays) This isn't a video game(Madden) but a job that takes alot of time to understand the offense fully.

Also as mostly the third string QB, you don't get any REps with the first string WRs , Te, RBs etc. Tough to have any timing down with these players, as it was someone else (backups ) you were throwing with mostly. Last it tough Adjustment for the WRs, as Russell arm, is like no one else. You go From MCClown (Pennington arm - to Russell) its a big diffrence. Was not unexpecting that Raiders recievers dropped alot of balls.

The only question this raises is whether the Jets are secretly contemplating dealing Chad Pennington. If we trade Chad, then we definitely will pick a QB in the second round.

You score a four and I highly doubt you go number 1 overall. Jamarcus Russell score was quite acceptable) Vince Young scored a nine( and he got the NFL to test him again- which never happens-, ) Dan Marino I believe scored a 14 so I don't know how much stock you can really put in those test. The clincher Chad Pennington score very high- but when you have a puss arm you can only do so much.

Jets draft another QB it has nothing to do with Pennington. Jet coaches want to win to save their jobs, Your not going with two inexperienced QBs. That is a recipe for disaster.
The Jets moves in Freeagency, and it would be a shocker if Pennington wasn't Jet starting QB next year. Jets aren't winning any Championships next year. Hopefully you figure Pennington can buy time(win some games) , and wait for that young gun to take you where you want to go.

Imagine going into the season with Clemens, Tui, and a rookie. Almost no kind of experience between them, and there only success in the league is the fact that they're still in it.

Half true imo. Drafting a QB increases Penningtons chances of being the starter next season, so it has a lot to do with him. And yea, the Jets CS does want to save there jobs, thats why they'd be looking for the QB of the future. Drafting a QB doesn't signify the end of Pennington, is signifies the end of Clemens.

Yes, it is very hard for me to sit here and endorse a UL QB. I hate Louisville athletics to the core but I know a good QB when I see one. He is the real deal, I have seen him play since his days at powerhouse Louisville Trinity High.

I will be shocked if Brohm is not a Pro-Bowl caliber player in the NFL in the near future, hopefully for the J-E-T-S!!!!

I have a sneaky suspicion that JeMarcus Russell will be the next Ryan Leaf...
