I would love Garcia to come in for the year and be in open competition with KC and CP. At 38 he still has the zip and with a very experienced head.
If KC IS the man (which I don't) then having another experienced Vet on the team will only serve to be good.
    Either Garcia or Simms anyway.

He just led the Bucs to the playoffs, went to the Pro Bowl, and is still the current starting quarterback on that team. There is not a chance they let him, go even if they were to draft his replacement.

And even if the bucs did let him go, he'd probably only sign with a team that would guarantee a starting job for him and pay a minimum - league avg. for starters/3yr. That would be a lot money dished out to QB's if he came to the jets.

On the surface I would agree with FITM however I think he is overlooking Jon Gruden’s mental retardation.

But – even if he was available I wouldn’t want his gay ass on the jets. It’s nauseating to listen to that lisping homo on the local news every night…plus, he looks like an aids patient.

Garcia being brought in would make Pennington expendable right away. He'd be a cheaper vet option to hold the fort while our latest QB draft pick prepares to start. Thats assuming that Clemens is no longer in the equation, which hopefully he still is. Doubt it will happen but I wouldn't be complaining if it did.

Who cares really, if the guy can win football games I'm all for it. That said, no way Tampa lets him walk....

At 38, Garcia will have to live with teams who don't know if he will last and will contract for him to prove himself, year by year.

His lot in life is a series of one-year contracts now that he has to earn.

    That's the way it is.

I also don't think that Gruden will let him go this year.

Garcia is annoying, effeminate, and his head looks like a turnip. But if he came to the Jets, even at 38 years old, he would automatically be the best QB on our team.

i still dont understand why almost everyone is jumping at every single free agent quarterback. i do understand that we do not have a quarterback that has proven he will be able to play at a high level this year, but i still believe theres two that may have a lot of potential. im not even going to start another argument about chad, but no matter what anyone thinks, hes going to get what may be his last chance to win the starting job this year. whatever you may think of that, hes better than most if not any free agent veteran qbs that were around in this offseason. competing with him is a quarterback entering his 3rd season, who was valued by some to be at or near the level of the big 3 qbs that came out of his draft, and who finally has some decent experience beneath him.

one of these guys is very likely to be the starter this season, and i for on am pretty damn excited to see how that turns out...

Exactly...and if they were actually going to let him go then I doubt he signs to be the Jets 3rd QB...

They don't need to draft his replacement with 2394327 other QBs on the roster. They'll soon have Chris Simms lining up at WR and Gradkowski at punter just to give everyone a shot on the field

If we did aquire him, he would be the #1 out of all our current guys. So no, he could not be our third QB, that role would go to Chad, Kellen, or a draft pick.

Not only have I seen her ? but I have to listen to her blow words out of her stupid mouth all football season long on Fox Tampa.

Nothing worse than a model that thinks she should talk.
