Say if everything went to plan what would be the dream scenario that happened on draft day. For me if we stay at 6 hopefully McFadden falls to us which is looking more and more likely everyday.RB isnt the biggest need but there is no way the jets could have McFadden at #6 and not pick him. In Round 2 alot of players will be available but i think we go LB either Lofton or Groves.Groves does have some concerns and even though i love him as a player i think the smarter choice would be Lofton, plus the 3-4 OLB's in next years draft are stacked there are gonna be alot available. In the 4th we have 2 picks but i could easily see us trading those 2 picks to move to round 3 to grab a certain player if they were there. Maybe a Reggie Smith S or Manningham WR.But i think in the end Manningham will be drafted way lower then what he should be hopefully he be the 1st pick for us in the 4th. The second 4th rounder should be used to grab a corner Orlando Scandrick out of Boise state. I wish this D-Rob trade would happen cause i dont really like to guess for compensation i say we probably get a 5th and a conditional pick in 09. In the 5th Kellen Davis TE/OLB would be a project but i think he could excel in a couple of years at one of the positions. In the 6th we could select Letroy Guinn , he's 6'4 295 perfect size for a 3-4 end. In the 7th i say we geta QB Ryan O'Hara a small school QB out of Central Oklahoma. The guy has great size 6'6 230 and is mobile. He has a nice arm and was an Arizona recruit. 1 Darren McFadden RB Arkansas 2 Curtis Lofton ILB Oklahoma 4 Mario Manningham WR Michigan 4 Orlando Scandrick CB Boise State 5 Kellen Davis TE/OLB Michigan State 6 Letroy Guinn DE Florida State 7 Ryan O'Hara QB Central Oklahoma
I dream of blood on the ground around the line of scrimmage because the NYJ are taking no prisoners (EVER) on offense and Defense.
I'd also go MacFadden Q. Groves WR CB Bottom Line: Adding to our pass rush is a priority to me!! I'll only take McFadden if I know I can get a pass rushing OLB or DE in the second round and I'd have to be convinced that he'd be an impact player.
1 Gholston 2 Sweed (prob won't be there at our early Rd 2 pick) 4 John David Booty (most underrated QB in the draft, may have to trade up to 3rd round) 4 CB 5 DL 6 OL 7 ILB special teamer
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz My Dream........ 1. Chris Long DE Virginia 2. Darren McFadden RB Arkansas 4. Vernon Gholston DE Ohio State 4. Matt Ryan QB Boston College
My scenario... 22. Jonathan Stewart 28. Joe Flacco Round 2 - James Hardy Round 3 - Carl Nicks Round 4 - 7: OL, DL, ILB, CB
My Ideal, somewhat realistic scenario: 1. Chris Long, DE/OLB, UVA (plays opposite Pace at OLB) 2. Curtis Lofton, ILB, Oklahoma (Harris v2.0) or James Hardy, WR, Indiana (tall, athletic WR) 4. Jordy Nelson, WR, K-State (a WR in the Wes Welker/Chrebet mold) or Beau Bell, ILB, UNLV 4. Owen Schmitt, FB, WV (Richardson's only here for a year) 6. Kirk Barton, OL, OSU (Might not be here but we need O-Line depth) 7. J Leman, ILB, Illinois (would likely become ST captain in time)
Ideal, definitely not realistic scenario: trade down from 6 to the saints at 10 for a 3rd rounder. trade down from 10 to 22 to the cowboys for their 2nd and 3rd. 1. K. Rivers (LB) 2a. K. Phillips (S) 2b. Flowers (CB) 3a. Avril (OLB) 3b. J. Jones (DE) 4a. J. Nelson (WR) 4b. M. Hart (RB) rest of draft, I don't really care as much.
dream scenario 1.Jake Long 2.Chris Long 4a.Devin Thomas 4b.Curtis Lofton 5.DRC This post was sarcastic
I would love for something and that would be really my dream scenario but i tried not to do any trades if something like that happens.Which is likley because the Saints to get Ellis , but i think i likelier trade partner for the second trade would be Philly since they want an OT to jump ahead of the Broncos,Panthers and Bears. In that scenario i would choose 1. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB 2a. James Hardy WR 2b. Curtis Lofton ILB 3a. Reeggie Smith S 3b. Mario Manningham WR 4a. Shawn Crable OLB 4b. Kirk Barton OT
1.Darren McFadden 2.Quentin Groves 4.Tom Zbikowski 4.John David Booty 6.Terrence Wheatly 7.Justin Harper
Dream Scenario #1 (No trades) 1. Chris Long 2. Curtis Lofton 4. Chilo Rachal 4. Josh Barrett Dream Scenario #2 (assuming no Long) Trade Dewayne Robertson to DEN for a 4th and 7th rounder Trade #6 to CIN for #9, a 3rd rounder and a 5th rounder Trade #9 and 4th (from DEN) to PHI for #19, Lito Sheppard and a 3rd rounder 1. Quentin Groves DE/OLB (from PHI) 2. Curtis Lofton ILB 3. Early Doucet WR (from CIN) 3. Chilo Rachal OG 4. Shawn Crabble LB 4. Josh Barrett (from NO) S
Chris Long at 6 would be amazing, and I was extremely anti-Long a few months ago. He's done alot to change my mind. Guys I love for us past 6 that might actually reach the second: Avril Moore Rubin Murray (N. Mex. St.) Pressley J. Nelson Hayden Rice K. Brown Greco Wow theres alot...I'm gonna stop... I think it'd be sick if we drafted one of Brown, Greco, or Felton in the late rounds. Felton the guy McFadden ran behind when he ran through the middle...and one thing you can't help but notice in McFadden's game tapes is that that OL was absolutely sick at run blocking.
