spoke to a neighbor of mine, who is good friends with teddy atlas. he told me, he spoke to atlas, who told him he is going to arkansas, to have a sit down with DMC. the jets, who employ atlas, want to get some feedback, from atlas, ans see what he thinks about his character. he told me that not only are they looking at the fights, and illegit kids, but also his gang ties. seems to me that our FO, wants this guy, they're just makin sure they cover all the bases.
There is no doubt that the Jets want DMC. If he is there at #6, he will be the pick. It just depends on what the Raiders do and who is available at #4. If Chris Long is there at #4 for the Raiders, I don't see how they could pass on Howie's kid.
When Teddy Atlas starts making personnel moves for us instead of a guy that makes inpsirational speeches, I'll be impressed.
not only does he make speeches, he trains the lineman on hand techniques. adapts some boxing training to the linemen, to fend off blocks and such. guess you can call that a scoop, also. the thing is, with the type of people atlas has had to deal with(inner city, gang kids, etc.), i guess he knows the things to look for to determine whether or not it's worth investing the time, and money in the athlete.
Sorry, but the fact that they are letting so much of this stuff be leaked and also are making public appearances at all-star functions makes me think they're trying to either get Dallas to trade up for him or scare the Raiders into taking him at 4. It's nice that you got some inside info but Teddy Atlas doesn't strike me as someone that has very much to do with the day-to-day football operations of the Jets.
Yea the jets are taking McFadden out too boxing matches just so the Raiders take him at 4.. Yea that makes alot of sense.
Yeah, don't forget that 2 years ago Vernon Davis said he was about 90% convinced he'd be in Green and White considering all the attention we gave him.
The Jets have always played the smokescreen game, you should pay more attention. Vernon Davis, like Mobius said, almost sounded like he was guaranted being drafted by the Jets, and the team actually put out a mock draft on the official site that had them taking Cutler. How much do you think they spent going to a function that was being commentated by their favorite boxing legend?
I honestly can't remember, did they even talk to Revis last year before the draft This is just all way to public
i forgot about the Davis rumor. This organization comes from the Parcells/Belly school of thought- we will lie to the point where its almost classless. Thats why i'm not totally sure that Jake Long will be the 1st overall pick.
Revis was talked to in a cab in NY that he shared with Tannenbaum and Tanny was convinced this was his pick. NFL Network reported before the draft started that the non-surprise would be for us to trade up and take Revis. Mayock was pretty on point during the draft last year- it was actually pretty impressive.
this was just a conversation between friends, about atlas going to arkansas. i put more stock into a scoop like that, as opposed to " a gm from another team that is speaking on promise of aninimoty". it was'nt anything to do with the league.my buddies a service manager at a car dealer, for crying out loud. i really believe that the FO believes there's a good chance this kid falls to us, at 6. they obviously have an interest. i really don't believe this is all a smoke screen. i'm just happy to hear they're doing thier due diligence.
Actually, it was McFadden's brothers that have the gang ties. One was/is a blood, another was/is a crypt. Can you imagine growing up in that house? Plus they had numerous drive by shootings. I give McFadden credit for even surviving.
One of the 3 major rules fans forget: 1. Reporters/"experts" are usually fed bullshit. 2. In today's constantly scrutinized draft, a FO absolutely must throw out as many smokescreens as possible. 3. Even the info we get that isn't bullshit can't be treated as concrete.
