WHat does it matter what he did in college in terms of off the field. People are always spreading rumors. As long as he tries to clean up his act thats all we can ask for

Well, the good stuff should start in the next couple of days. Player trades, pick trades. I expect there will be at least a few before the draft with the shorter clock time in the first two rounds this year.

  3. Let's also keep in mind that the jets sent a former player(I wanna say Bobby jackson) to VA acouple days before the draft to bsically put D brick under the hotlights, to see how he was under pressure.

So perhaps this is a smokescreen...but this has been done before as perhaps a final evaluation in the process.

I agree 100% with #2 specifically and fall in the camp that we are specifically courting DMC so that either someone above us picks him thus making the def player like Long or Gholston who we really want fall to us, or to seduce a team like chicago, carolina or dallas to trade up for DMC.

Mangini comes from the def wins championships school and there is no better model to follow than the current sb champs, who knocked brady on his ass at least a dozen times.

When you have a top 6 pick you better believe they are going to do as much homework as possible on any player they are even considering. That kind of investment and the effect it has on your team you do anything you possibly can to make the right choice. I suspect they are doing similar research and meetings with other players that may be available at 6.

    Very true.

Essentially, we have no clue of what the hell they're gonna do as we've seen signs for and against, which is exactly what the FO's probably going for.

my guess would be to move McFadden to the slot, not unlike how Reggie Bush is used. He would get carries now and again at the beginning, but I think he'd be dangerous as a receiver who comes in motion. Then you can get it to him on reverses or direct handoffs or float him out

There is incredible amount of doubt that the Jets will pick McFadden. They are doing their due dilligence, and creating the impression as you prove that they are interested in him. This creates extra value in a trade at the 6 spot for DMC. They may take him, too, but the incredibly public "courting" they are doing leads me to believe that it is more likely misdirection than interest.

Ah yes, but do you think for even a second that NE would have even gotten to the SB without their offense?

So while defense "may" win, you don't get a chance to try if you can't play offense and the Jets can't.

They need a major overhaul of the offense and this is the best place to start.

Doubt from where? Everybody expects the Jets to take him if he is there and to do it in record time.

i think that Ryan and Gholston are still the picks above DMC, but if they are gone he will be picked in 8:15 left on the clock.

Maybe Ryan. I really think Gholston might fall a little farther. If Miami doesn't take him 1st and the Jets don't take him 6th, Gholston might fall out of the top 10.

if both gholston and dmc are there at 6, we will take gholston for no other reason than to keep him out of ne.

I expect NE to trade out of the spot with somebody who wants Ryan or Ellis and then taking a CB later in the round. I really don't see them taking Gholston.

I agree with those that say this is a GIANT smokescreen...

All in order to drum up excitement and a possible trade for him or the 6th pick.

  20. There was a media guy from MSG.COM/Rutgers radio(forget his name) that was at the Hammerstein that night...and he went on sirius NFL radio last evening. He is ADAMANT that this was not a smokescreen or a planned appearance by the jets.

He said that the jets appeared very upset that DMAC was spotted by members of the media/fans as the event was supposed to be very low key. A few jet fans went up to DMAC, and the jets were only allowing about 10 seconds of interaction before having their security step in. After about 10 mins. of this, and this given media member requesting an interview...they got DMAC out of their as quickly as possible.
