i heard mike mayock was a genie, predicting most picks. Who did he say we were going to pick once it was announced that we traded back up into the first round?

    wow....k thanks.

that would be icing on the cake if we really did keep Shockey in NY by jumping ahead of the G-women

Schefter KNEW it was Keller because he completely destroys everyone at ESPN, and basically everyone else involved in the media. He was down on the floor, so he probably talked to some Jets' officials before the pick was turned in.

Mayock also praised the hell out of keller after we picked him, said he loved the move and it would be a great weapon for Pennington

Well regardless of Pennington, this guy could be a great deep threat for Clemens. Last year we tried to throw the ball downfield, so this guy will hopefully create more room in the seams.

Mike Mayock's draft work makes Mel Kiper look like a rank amateur. There are points where I wonder if the NFL Network connection doesn't get him inside information, because ESPN is two steps behind.

I haven't even turned on ESPN because I prefer Mayock so much more than Kiper :)

That's true, but doesn't anyone else feel like Schefter kind of spoils the fun a little by announcing the pick early? We only have to wait another 30 seconds or so for god's sake, but Schefter has to take the fun out of it.

Imagine him at your house on Christmas day. You reach for a big box and Schefter grabs his microphone and spouts: "Folks, this is a big box of building blocks. He was hoping for an Xbox 360 but his Dad wouldn't spend that much cash."

Sadly, I don't get NFL Network. Wish I did because I don't like ESPN. I do like Kiper though. All the guys at NFLN do get inside information, so its more fun to watch Kiper who doesn't actually know everyone in each organization.

The only thing I like about Mek Kiper is watching that grumpy-slash-quizzical look on his face when they run through his "best players left on the board" and team is on the clock picks someone else. ESPN just can't cut away from him fast enough. Great television is in the details.

NFLN reran the Monday Night Miracle last night, it was great to watch--especially in April. It was so great to see Vinny out there slinging it and Chrebet running at full speed making big catches. A couple of fun facts--three guys got their first NFL TDs, Coles, Wiggins and Jumbo, Richie Anderson had 12 catches, Vinny threw for almost 300 yards in the 4th quarter.

  18. Actually..the guy you should have beef w/ at ESPN is Mcshay. He's the comparable one to Mayock. He watches film and evaluates players primarily...and Mayock wipes the floors w/ him.

Kiper may not be the best evaluator..but NO ONE knows value and the big board better than Kiper.

Honestly, I just can't stand his voice. Crazy sounding, I know. I've actually never seen McShay as I've been watching the NFL Network exclusively the past couple of drafts.

Isn't it awesome to be able to watch the draft without ESPN and Chris Berman? I didn't turn to ESPN once, it's a beautiful thing.
