I personally think so. This is because of the racially charged media firestorm, the fact that his team is about to endure a 4 game sweep by the hands of the Braves, and the fact that his big bats, and relievers just clearly are playing dead, he must go. Willie has lost this team and its painfully obvious. Last year has bled into this year in this clubhouse and this is Willies fault. This is where he can control things. He has not managed the mentality of this club, and has not picked them up when obviously fragile. IMO a team reflects the mentality of their manager, and that is exactly what is happened. The Mets look defeated and Willie is exuding defeat. Time to go Willie. You've done well up to this point but its just time to part ways. What do you all think?

I think he should be fired. I thought the Mets should have canned him after last season. When they did not do that, I thought the Mets should give him till Memorial Day weekend. If the team sucks, goodbye. If the Mets are doing good, he stays. Well, Memorial Day weekend is upon us and the team sucks, so goodbye. I don't know if a new manager will for sure make the team be good, though. There are too many lackadaisical players on the team.

I've made my feelings about this clear in other threads, so there's no need to repeat them. I do think the bolded point above is noteworthy, however. No doubt the Willie defenders will say how he shouldn't have been fired if the team doesn't turn around, but that's completely besides the point. A new manager might or might not make a difference, but the old manager won't for sure.
He needs to have a rant like Jim Leyland of the tigers get some type of spark going he always seems to calm. I want a manager with a little anger in him.
if this keeps up, willie should most definatly get fired, its not just this season, but, also the last month of last season, we just havent been winning, we are under 500 from september of last season to now

If Willie's in-game decisions were the reason this team was solely under .500 right now, I'd agree with it. However, the fact that the players OMAR MINAYA brought in aren't playing up to par, the hostility should be directed towards the players and the general manager who brought this team together.
Ok, if the team is garbage, why are you not taking it out on any of the players or the general manager?
Firing Omar mid-season accomplishes nothing. The players that stink are untradable. Firing the manager and bringing someone else in "might" wake some of these clowns up.
