With the additions of Faneca, Woody, Richardson, Bubba Franks and Musa Smith, I really look for this Jets offense to be a ball controling, keep the defense fresh, move the chains type of Offense.

We have a powehouse Offensive Line with Ferguson, Faneca, Mangold, Moore and Woody. Lets not forget that Faneca still has YEARS left in the tank and has always been knows as one of the top 3 LG's interms of Run blocking and making way for the HB, Mangold is one of the best young centers in the game today, hands down. We drafted Ferguson for his pass blocking ability but now he has a chance to play with a mean-streak and a hunger in the running game while playing next to a proven veteran in Faneca. Woody is a question mark for me as a Jets fan @ RT (Only because I really never followed him on the field when I seen him play) And lets not forget guys, that Moore was the starting RG for the Jets team when Curtis Martin lead the league in Rushing, this Kid can play when he actually has a chance to play on an O-Line with quality players.

Tony Richardson is the key for me as a Jets fan. Its exciting. Richardson may only have another two, MAYBE three seasons, but at the same time, just look at what he has done for backs like Marcus Allen, Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson and last years rookie Adrian Peterson. Lets watch how Peterson can adjust in that Vikings backfield WITHOUT one of the best lead blockers to ever lace up on Sundays.

Talk about adding another big body to the mix, here comes big Bubba Franks. All Jet fans should know one thing and one thing only, This Jets Front Office went after Bubba for the simple fact the man adds a big body for the offense when in the Red Zone. We have our Play makers in Dustin Keller who can stretch the field and we have Baker who can make the tough catches but I feel Bubba will be the TE to go to in the Red Zone when teams are looking to stuff the run.

Finially Musa Smith, I really hope he makes the Jets team, I would love Thomas Jones, Leon Washington and Musa Smith. We have the "Everydown" Back in Thomas Jones, we have that "Change of Pace, Homerun" type of back in Leon Washington and we would also have that "Smashmouth, grind it out" Type of back in Musa Smith.

Wanna talk about Red Zone problems? Just look @ the Jets of last year, and you will find 3 points on the board just about every time. With players like Faneca, Woody, Richardson, Franks and maybe Musa Smith, I look for this Jets redzone offense to be one of the best we have seen in years, as Jet fans.

We also have some play makers on this Jets offense. Leon Washington, Coles, Cotchery, Brad Smith, Baker and Dustin Keller has alot of potential to be that explosive TE who can stretch the field. Keller is faster than any LB and bigger than any Safety, and can catch the ball with the best of em. thats calls for miss matches in opposing secondarys. And yes im saying it... With the Offense we have, Thomas Jones may be the player of the year for the Jets.

No matter who the QB is... Kellen or Chad, I feel this Jets offense can be the Defenses best friend. If this Offense can eat up the clock and play with the lead, I think our Defense can be one of the best in the league with players like Coleman, Jenkins, Ellis, Pace, Harris, Barton and Gholston in the front 7 with players like Miller, Elam, Rhodes and Revis in the secondary. We also have some solid deph with players such as Poteat, Dwight Lowery, Woolfork in the secondary and players like Bryan Thomas, Pouha, and C.J Mosley with the front 7.

I just think our Offensive line can take us far

Correction. You don't know what you have on the oline yet. YEs you had a very big upgrade on paper, with Alan faneca. Until you see that Oline in action, its still a hugh question mark. Oline effectiveness isn't because you have great indivials, but how the group performs as a cohessive unit. (to expect that group to come out, and perform as a well oil machine , right out of the box, is aasking for the impossible.

looking at the the Jets running backs, do you see a RB that scarys a defense. How about a WR. How about having a QB , that can hurt a defense who safeties are cheating up. Those lack of playmakers might eventually be the reason why your running game still sputters, despite spending so much money to improve .

Stop with this insanity that Jets defense could even be top ten. IM sorry but no top ten defense ,has as many holes and question marks that jets still have on defense.

Kwame Harris comes to mind. BTW, your beloved HOF coach, John Madden- gave him a 78 rating in the upcoming game. Wow - no faith from the ex-Raider.

Here is a perfect example of a Jet fan offering what they think, and you saying "correction" or NO or WRONG (because caps really drives the point home). Try saying "I think" because the bullshit you sling is an opinion too.

WTF does this word mean???????? for the love of God Jeaux.

Sure, Coles and Cotchery were the 5th best tandem in the AFC in 2006. They can't return to that? I have a little faith in them. Oh, in 06 we really had no running game. Stuckey is impressing once again - him being healthy all season can warrant a good #3 guy. I'd mention Keller, but I don't want to hear it from you about whatever is really wrong with him.. in your head of course.

I don't think he'll play three more seasons. One or maybe two is more like it.

The Vikings will be fine at fullback. They signed Thomas Tapeh in the offseason and they also like Jeff Dugan. Tapeh is a very good blocker and is also a good pass receiver.

This makes Tapeh one of the only players this season who will play his home games in the same stadium in which he played his home games during his college career.

Couple Facts , try to dispute them. Raiders blocking system(denver) has proven over the years to be very effective run blocking scheme. Again Raiders were the sixth best rushing attack in football. (proven commodity)

For the millionth time you can question Kwame harris ability as a pass blocker, but you really can't question his ability to run block. (big upgrade to B Sims in that regard)
K harris skills fit in nicely with the Raiders blocking scheme. Case IN Point. See Kevin Schaffer looked great playing LT in Atlanta, with Raiders Oline coach mentor Alex Gibbs. recieved a big contract from Clevland, and didn't look as great out of that system. See Denver Broncos olineman, there FA olineman have been some of the biggest FA bust. Put them back in their system, and they are totally diffrent players.
Raiders now have two 6'7 325 pound athlethic guys to run behind on the left side.

Couple questions. Jets Oline is not the biggest oline on paper. alan faneca played with some massive Olineman with the Steelers. Lets see how he fares with a much smaller group. Bill callahan is not a zone blocking offensline coach. His scheme is a man on man blocking scheme. He prefers his guards to be massive and Jets didn't exactly give him what he prefers. Mangold is the type of Center he wants.
Jets couldn't run the football last year, and until we see if this group is any better Im sorry but im not taking it as a fact that your going to be this great running team. ( You don't have a RB) Lets see Raiders proven, Jets unknown.

NOw on to Coles and Cothchery. You think Jets throwing a high percentage of short passes 4- 6 yards is not going to overinflate both numbers. How many quick screen passes both catch a year) IM sorry but neither one is a Number 1 Wr, that scaries a defense. IT was like L Coles numbers in Washington 90 receptions were mostly screen passes. Yea Stuckey could be a good number 3 Wr, as K Clemens could be TOm Brady. NOw is it Stuckey looking good or Jets have some major problems at number 2 and number 3 cb position.

Again this is just my opinion, so don't get your panties all worked up.

Show me what was incorret with what I said. Look up what Alex gibbs and his disciples have done with their teams running games. Look up Steelers Oline size, versus your oline size. Is there a diffrence? Bill Callahan you know was a Raider coach. He said it a million times his philosphy on the oline. Why he prefers maasive guiards. He wants his guards, to be able to root out the massive Dts by themselves. Jets don't exactly have those type of guards.

L Coles and Cotchery njumbers aren't inflated due to Pennington not trusting his arm, and settling for those quick screen passes.

Impress me , punch holes in what I have said.

I always wondered why fans of other teams come onto message boards of opposing teams, I mean... I can understand the week of the game for a little football talk, but in the offseason? wow, the Offseason? Do we really have trolls of other teams on the GangGreen in the offseason? Are you kidding me...The offseason? Telling fans of the Jets that we are wrong? Acting like he knows more about football than everyone else? In the Offseason? You gotta be kidding me! I guess this RaiderJoe guy has ALOT of time on his hands and I honestly think, feel and believe... He has a little bit 2 much time on his hands...

The offseason? And the trolling is already starting? The offseason? man oh man

Raider Joe may be a Homer...but at least he comes and takes his medicine when he's wrong, he has been around here a long time....nothing he said is too far from the mark...The Jets could be good...or....who knows.

    Peace!

look for the jets offense to be passive and predictable. it does not matter who the QB is, mangini can ill afford to blow games with a roster full of money. the jets look much improved on both sides of the ball, only on paper. the team is still full of question marks, and our coaches will certainly have to live up to higher standards. every team in the nfl wants to be a ball control type of offense, combined with a killer defense. i cant wait to see what we end up becoming.

Frankly speaking, the Jets do have some reason to be hopeful, but as Jeaux has pointed out, there are quite a few question marks on this team as it stands now. If they do pan out, they will be very good. If not, expect a long season.

His expectation about the Raiders is off the mark.

His assessment of the Jets at this particular moment seems fair to me.

    I wish us luck...

Tampa bay Jets fan (and I ot family in St. Pete, who root for all kinds of teams)... All i can say is--you sound like a young person. I love youjr enthusiasm but my lifelong experience with the Jets says somthing else.

Last year, D'Brick showed that he just might be the second coming of Brian Bosworth. Hey, I am a Jets fan! But I worry about things like this.

Thomas Jones ran so well last year that the team is trying to replace him with everyone they can sign. Not a good "sign" to us fans. I wish we could have signed McFadden!

If Bubba Franks is so great, where has he been lately?

Like I said, I love your enthusiasm and I hope I am wrong, but I am not too excited about the Jets prospects this season. On the other hand, there have been so many changes, it's going to be very excited! Looks lik another 12-4 or 4-12 season! Got to love it!
