This is from Champion69Jets...Come join our thread on the Jets PSL's in August Somebody posted that the tix are late this year because so many tix holders already opted out & those that were on the wait list also seem not to much in a hurry to sign up. If that report is correct then your suggestion of withholding the funds sounds like a logical way to go.
I always remember getting them a few weeks before the first pre season game. My Guess would be next week.
yes this is true lots of season tickets where available this year. i was 2400 back on the waitlist and was offered tix if i could pay in 10 DAYS. they wanted money and they wanted it fast. my friend was 240 on the list offered tickets and then sent money in on the deadline.he then was told all the tix where sold and he had to go back on the front of the list. total chaos
Sounds that way. Does anyone know how many people are still on the Jets wait list? I have heard Giants estimates of 175,000! Can that be correct and does anyone know how that compares to how many the Jets have on their waiting list?
It's amazing what the threat of PSLs is doing to the customer base. At one point wasn't the waiting list estimated to be more than 10 years long?
Will why should we be giving a billionaire our money to watch a FB game in person? Maybe Woody over estimated the draw of the NYJs by using the wait list as the data for his thinking
Don't you get the feeling sometimes they have some crackheads working in the office? I haven't gotten my tickets yet, I was on the waiting list from 1993 to 2002.
The best thing that can happen is if droves of customers drop their tickets willingly in protest of this BS. If that were to happen, the NFL might think twice about smacking its fan base in the face like the Jets and Giants are doing to us right now.
Jet fans are nothing if not strong willed. If anyone can send that message it's us. This isn't a one-horse town with no other entertainment available and we know they aren't moving the franchise. So fuck em.
Well, let's not forget that the Jets haven't yet officially announced that they're following in the Giants' footsteps. I'm trying to hold out hope that they're at least working on acquiring huge amounts of vaseline before sending out the notices, so I'm not railing against the Jets just yet. The sad thing is, I'm going to have to drop my tickets, but it won't be "in willing protest" as much as it will simply be that I can't fucking afford them. I'm not too proud to say that it's just not within my budget or means. So yeah, when I drop my current seats, it'll somewhat be in protest, but it'll mostly be because I just cannot lay out that kind of dough. I'm thinking many, many others are in the same boat, perhaps as many as 85-90% of the people in the Mezzanine or Sideline cockamamie "Coaches Club" areas.
well i think the first test woody used to measure Jets fans commitment was by installing the $50 waitlist fee every year.then seeing how alot of people paid it,including me,thought he could also imply a PSL.but with alot of seaon ticket holders droppping out and then also waitlist people deffering tickets,Woody went out and spent money.or invested money in the team hoping to USE US to recopp the money. something smells fishy and it aint Joannyd's fromunda cheese
I'd say most of us are in the same boat. The protest is that we can't afford it, otherwise we'd probably pay it like we do now. As it is they soak us for two pre-season games a year and then play guys who will be working at UPS in two weeks, but we deal with that because the overall investment is worth the other eight games. They are now making the investment way beyond what we are getting back or could even pay if we wanted to. I can't get the five-star restaurant out of my head as the prime example of this silliness. You've got people in football jerseys grilling and drinking from 10 am, you're giving them a five-star restaurant at country club prices? Who asked for this and when?
That's pretty funny! Yeah, it's beyond silly. Like I said, it's like they're building a combination 5-star restaurant and catering hall for all the box seats and as an afterthought, they figured it was also a good idea to put a football field in there somewhere. I don't know about anyone else, but I go to football games for the "let your hair down," relaxed, informal surroundings. I go in jeans because I like to toss the football around the parking lot with my family. If I get a little ketchup on my clothes, it's no big deal. If I wanted to go to a 5-star restaurant, I'll go into Manhatten before a show and really enjoy the experience, not go to one in the Meadowlands and have to gulp down the $70 entree because kickoff is in 10 minutes. Who the hell ever dreamt up this whole cockamamie idea in the first place? Ridiculous.
