I haven't got my tickets yet either. So nobody got them yet? Those bastards like to just throw the tickets package in front of my doors steps, anyone can just grab them.
I been trying to find out. I tried to log in the Jets site but it didnt tell me a number. Anyone know where to look/?
Well 227 your hope maybe coming thru. I received a Email offer from the NYJs for 2 games + a indoor T/gate + autographs for only $650.00. One of the games was the Pat game the other one I forgot who it was since I had no interest in it
Please expand on this. My hope for what as it relates to this email? What are you saying, Champ, that you got some kind of special offer. And what's with the $650? I'm not understanding your post.
I am saying they MUST have xtra tix available so they put this package together that I mentioned that would cost somebody $650.00 per seat. Here is the link http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/ez83pm
Okay, I understand. I think it was 17A or someone else originally stressing the point that maybe they are hurting to move tickets this year (based on the waiting list collapsing). But maybe this is good news, I don't know. All I know is, the more time that passes, each and every day, tells me the Jets have to be working on something, because they sure as hell have been "Mum's The Word" on what Mara and Tisch have presented to the Vaseline-applying Giants public.
Yeah like giving us a 20 year exemption or something like that. Look no matter if they give you 1 year, 5 years or 10 years to pay off the PSL you are still giving your money to Woody for the honor of watching the NYJs play in person which as you have said is "dead" money so why even entertain that type of proposal? To me if I have to give Woody one penny of my money to watch the NYJs my son & I will just mosey on since we have far better things to do with 60Gs then give it to a billionaire
Hope everybody thinking of paying the PSL is aware you maybe paying a second one shortly after paying the 1st. The scenario would be say a year from now the NYGs change there mind & decide a dome would be a wonderful & terrific idea. Lets estimate the cost for doming would be 500Gs & the NYJs portion for the doming would be 250Gs & us fans all know that Woody & the NYGs will declare another PSL to cover the doming costs. Now us fans would be between a rock & hard place since we already paid for PSL #1 & if we do not also pay for PSL #2 we lose our money that we paid out for PSL #1
Is it true that all other PSL situations come with the right to buy tickets to any event in the stadium? If thats true -- this PSL is just a tax. A few more questions: If you do not renew your tickets -- does the next person have to pay a PSL? Do they have to buy yours? Do you forfeit your money?
The PSL does not give you the rights to buy tickets for any event in the stadium. I think everyone has to forget what the PSL stands for or what the Jets and Giants are saying they are. All it is, is a way for owners to make money from thier fans. The only time a question about the PSLs was brought to Mara by Craig Carton he asked him that since you are splitting the stadium why do you keep referring to it as a 1.6 billon dollar stadium and not 800 Million Dollar Stadium. The jets and giants since they split the cost should not be able to charge a full PSL to their ticket holders. Another fact worth mentioning is that the Jets and Giants each got a 150M Dollar Loan from the NFL that they do not have pay back so if you broke everything down they are paying 650M for a stadium.
I recieved my tickets today, after 8 years on the waiting list. I got section 109, row 21. But I did not know I had to get the parking tikets real early, and now all sold out. I guess, I'll have to check ebay.
That is terrific way to look at it as a tax for the right to see a FB team. Just like you have to pay state income & sales taxes.
Good article by Mushnick in the Post yesterday: New York Post I found the part I bolded the most interesting. Certainly looks like I'm headed that way and I have a feeling I'm going to be happy about it and somewhat relieved. And I'll still probably manage to get to a few games a year, as I choose to. Even if you pay a scalper's fee for a good game, it won't be $20,000.
With regard to the Jets (but not the Giants) -- picking up tickets except for the pats game (and maybe one other) -- is relatively easy. I belong to a community yahoo group and there are jets tickets for sale (face value) all the time -- even when the jets are very good. There are NEVER giants tickets for sale. So -- except for the rare playoff game (which in the last 10 years there have been -- off the top of my head -- 2) -- there is no reason to pay money for the right to buy tickets that you can otherwise get. Maybe 1000 makes sense, but 20k does not. Also, as explained earlier -- the PSL's do not give you any "license" -- I am told that in Philly you have right of first refusal to all Linc events. If that is true -- thats actually a benefit. I would bet that the Jets still sell out all games even with the PSL's because corporations will pick up the available seats. I disagree with Mushnick about one thing. I think that sports teams can charge whatever they want for tickets. If they decide that it is more important to have a higher gross per game than have "fannies" in the seats -- theyll eventually pay for that by not cultivating their fan base. Baseball remains popular b/c you can go to a game for 20 dollars a seat (or less).
Baseball also has 81 home dates to collect parking and concession money as opposed to football's 10 home dates, 2 of which are pre-season, so they can get away with it. And even the Mets and Yankees are now going the corporate route with their new stadiums loaded with boxes and extras. Football tickets have always been the toughest to get because of the rarity of the games.
