i wouldn't have started this thread until friday.let both qb's have a game with the possibility of getting hit then we'll have a better idea who's in the lead.for my money i'm betting k.c. wins. because of his ability to get it to kellar down the seam.
Good. Its a win win situation. Chad wins and it shows exactley how bad our QB situation really is. We have a QB with no arm and a good brain, the other with no brain and a good arm. Wheres Dr Frankenstein when you need him?
It is kind of hard to establish the run when the other teams safties are cheating on the run. This will, without a doubt, be the case when Chad is in the game. Chad just cant be the main guy this year. Not for us or for any team. He no longer has the tools to run an open offense or a clock managment offense. He is now a backup and should be a backup the rest of his career.
i think we need a poll: [] qb with good brain, no arm [] qb with good arm, no brain poll results: good brain, no arm ******************** (50%) good arm, no brain ******************** (50%) damn, we're right back where we started!
Admit it, Celemns-lovers, Chad's outplaying him. That alone should tell you that the kid does not have "it".
Question...What top qbs are free agents next year? We may have no choice next year but to either pick up big Free agent or trade for quin (which may also be a risk) I do not want to draft another qb next year in first round and deal with this all over again. We need a proven veteran who can step right in
You want to trade for Quinn but don't want to draft a new QB. Both are unproven and will have to learn a new offense. Whats the difference? Footballs Future.com has the 2009 Free Agents. There is shit available. http://www.footballsfuture.com/freeagents.html
If Chad played and out performed KC then let it be. Why do we have fans who want to imagine KC is the saving grace to this team. Chad out played Brady in the 2nd game against patriots right? The field conditions were not great, but Pennington put us in a position to win (that is the qb's job). Unfortunately we had MccantCatch drop the ball. Yes KC has the potential, but if he cant show it in practice then how is he gonna show it in real games? So if he sucks in Practice he will absolutely blow in the regular season, and same goes for CP!
Thats become the consensus. If Kellen can't beat out a declining veteran, then he shouldn't be starting. There are some nice QB prospect coming out this year. Perhaps its time to go get one.
1. Did you see any QB that was so good that you just had to draft in this year's class? 2. Was there a relatively young, but impact free agent QB available this summer? I don't think either one of them was yes. Just like last year. Jets knew they had weakness in OL and DL, but there was no one to pick up - draft, free agency, whatever. You name it. There wasn't much. When the chances presented themselves this summer, they didn't hesitate to grab the personnel they liked (I can't agree with Woody pickup, but well.) That there was not much available isn't the fault of current FO. As far as grooming is concerned, they were grooming Kellen Clemens, and they just got another safety valve in Erik Ainge last year. How more competent do they have to be? Do they have to be able to create Peyton Manning out of thin air or something?
As much as I am against it, if chad wins the QB battle and is really the better option than Clemens, then I will support him. You gotta support whoever is under center. If he starts, he better step up though, I'm sick of settling for mediocrity.
Hey, guys, so far that "body of work" for these QBs is about three (3) inches high... There haven't even been any pre-season games against other teams yet. It's quite obvious that both these QBs have their own loyalists (as does Brett), but it's a little early on, with scant evidence one way or the other, to start jumping over the cliff at some conclusion we think we see in the air there... It will be cool to see that game with Cleveland, don't you think?
ok facts.... 1) chad cant throw more than 5-10 yards with any power behind the pass 2) our run will not be successfull when opp teams pay 8 in the box all game because they know chad cant stretch the d 3)Clemens can stretch the defense thus making rushing easier for thomas jones look lets be realistic, we're not going to win the division with either of these qbs, but at least if clemens is behind center it'll could make things easier for our running game. if you think chad is the answer he should be crushing this kid in the competition not beating him by a thread.
that may say it all right there. i think we need another poll: which game stats would you rather have? [] cp- 26 of 26, 65 yds rushing [] kc- 10 of 26, 280 yds rushing
out of the years that Chad was not injured ( i know, not many) how many years was chad a winning QB, and how many was he a losing QB?
I don't put alot of stock in practices and the Green and White scrimmage, and that would also ring true if Clemens was proving himself to be "starter-worthy." Nothing will test a player more than actual games and real-time action. The next 4 games will be the best barometer as to the players and their capabilities.
depends on who fixes your election. hehehe football related, the veteran will always look better in training camp. point blank. wait till game day.......
