Some stuff that just sounds like utter bull...

On how quickly it was clear this was a natural fit:

?The last 48 hours has been a whirlwind, it?s been a little crazy, just trying to figure out what was the best decision for me as a professional and what was the best decision for my family. But I just tried to enjoy it, take it one moment at a time and look at everything and I just felt that this was a great fit. This was a place I needed to be and wanted to be. Here I am.?

On whether he signed with Miami to get revenge on the Jets:

?Not at all. A lot of people might?ve thought it was the revenge factor. It had nothing to do with it. I just tried to look at each opportunity as it presented itself and try to make the best decision for me and my family and for my professional career.?

Now, I'm not trying to call him a liar, but I don't know how signing with a team that won 1 game last year (and traded their best defensive player away) could be a good thing for him as a professional. I guess winning doesn't exactly rante too high on the charts. The move on his part just stinks of spite...But this would be cutting his nose off to spite his face.

I wasn't ever a Chad basher...I knew he had shortcommings, but he was never a bad QB...I just don't know how anyone decides to sign on with a terrible team in a transition year, especially when he won't be there come next year. The fact that with Miami he has the chance to face the Jets twice could be seen as motive for the signing, but unless the Jets implode Miami won't win either of the matchups, and he will be lucky to see the Phins win 3 or 4 games all year.

I don't know why Parcells wouldn't just put a young QB in there and allow them to learn, especially instead of a stopgap QB that is middle of the road at best. I don't know why so many people are taking a dump on Chad, but I also am kinda shocked by how many are so quick to defend him...My guess is Chad won't be healthy enough to face us in the game here...But he will at least get to play against his old team once.

We don't really know who was interested. If several teams were bidding, perhaps Dolphins offered the most money? It may simply be money related. The guy has to think about his family and get what may be his last high dollar contract. The Dolphins are struggling now, so I don't think he went there thinking he was going to win.

As far as I know, Chad has never lied to the media or to the fans.

Why wouldn't you beleive him? Do you think he became dishonest in the last 48 hours?

I'm sure there is some non truth in there but i'm not sure if signing with the team in our division we are most likely going to sweep is really revenge. IMO it really was a strange decision on his part but i don't know what the other offers were.

The only thing to worry about Flounder-ball's appearance in Miami is the draft pick they're going to be getting again.

    - He lives in Florida in the offseason (Sarasota).

    - The only team in the world he might be able to start for would be one that was 1 – 15 last year and aiming for 4 – 12 this year.

The guy had one healthy season his entire career as a Jet, and he's complaining that we didn't think he could do the job. He's lucky he even lasted 8 whole seasons here... talk about job security.

I don't think it's in Chad's character to join a team simply out of spite, and VickBlows has it pretty much on target.

Exactly what I was going to say. The only teams in the NFL Pennington has a chance to start for are: Dolphins and Bears.

Starting is probably the #1 priority of any NFL QB who has become a free agent, so Miami would be a good fit for him, and expectations are not high for Chad there since the Dolphins only won 1 game last season and are going through a huge overhaul.

Chad is not the great player that Favre is.

But Favre is not the great guy that Chad is.

Unfortunetly for Chad, we need a great player more then a great guy.

Id say a familiarity with the team (from playing against it for 8 years), familiarity with the coaches (from playing under other Parcells' disciple coaches for about half his career), and familiarity with the division teams theyll be playing 6 times (including an in-depth knowledge of the Jets who theyll play twice) are all reasons why the transition to starting QB in Miami would be easier for Pennington than just about anywhere else.

that would make sense unless he passed up a chance to go to the vikings, who had a real shot at getting him a ring.

And I guess the Jets where Bretts best choice? You think the Jets are the Vikes or Pack? But you didn't see Brett say, "Gosh, this is the last place I wanted to play, but it was the only team willing to give up something and allow me to start."

No, Brett told you what you wanted to hear, are you losing any sleep over it? Not likely. The Jets were 4-12, and suddenly the Jets are a playoff team before Brett arrives? I think Brett could go anywhere and make that team better. So for you to look at the Dolphins 1-15 season and make an issue of that while ignoring your 4-12 season is simply laughable. Obviously winning isn't on Bretts "to do" list either if he signs with the Jets.

I think for a Jet fan to act like their 4-12 team is all of a sudden on some other level and allowed to ignore their lousy 07 season while pointing out how awful someone elses season was say's little of their credibility.

I think the Jets are better with Brett, but there's hardly proof the Jets are suddenly a playoff team.
