i'm just suprised that he would'nt want to go to a team that's got a chance at the superbowl. He knows his career is winding down, why go to a team that's basically worse then a expansion team?
Because he wanted to go to a team where he could start. I don't think he's doing anything sinister. Probably the only two teams he could have started for were KC and the Fins. I'm sure he has more faith that Parcells could turn things around down there before Herm does in KC.
That is why this reeks of spite and F U to the Jets. I would like to think that he is committed to winning, but a move like this goes against everything about winning...Parcells won't turn around the Phish within a year or 2, and Chad won't be there to see it. Parcells got a veteran QB now, but Chad has a shell of a team. Like I said earlier, I doubt this has to do with money...It isn't like he didn't make a bunch when he was here...And if it has nothing to do with trying to win, then I can only think of 1 thing it could be. He can try to play it anyway he wants, but this is just retarded. I'm sure he could have got into the Bears camp with a real chance to start...And for a much better club than he is on right now. And in the weak NFC you never know...Even Baltimore. Balt needs a QB that can manage the clock, and make few mistakes...Maybe he would have had to earn the starting job, but then what does that say for his belief in his own ability? He went to one of the worst teams in the NFL, and the Jets second biggest rival at the moment. Going to Miami is what it is...And it is kind of pathetic.
There were 'various reports' that 5 teams had contacted his agent. He signed so quick with Miami that I can't say...Although I did hear stuff about the Bears and the Ravens being 2 of the teams. Dunno if Herm called him or not...But they (ESPN 1050/The Fan 660) were both repoting that...As well as regular ESPN.
He is not good enough anymore to take a team over the hump. He is perfect though for a team like Miami with a decent running game, a GM/VP who loves him and no expectations. Although Bill is not coaching -- he has shown that he is worth 5-7 wins right away. They will be much better this year I think. Chad will manage the games to death for him. Short passes, Ronnie left, Ronnie right, Etc Etc
There is NO WAY ON EARTH that the Phish win 5 games, let alone more than 5. If they win 4 games it will be a success. The team won once last year, and that was with Jason Taylor on the team. Miami has one of the most talentless teams in football.
I hope you are right. Im a big Parcells believer -- although he is not coaching and just shopping for the groceries. I think that his system is worth a several wins.
I think people put too much stock into the previous year. One year in the NFL has nothing to do with the next. Parcells wasn't there last year, they have a new coaching staff, now a good QB, and they were right in a lot of games last year. The league is so balanced, anyone could be in the hunt with a few additions and some breaks. I would guess Chad saw an opportunity there to step in and start with a limited camp, is familiar with Parcells and Dan Henning, and stays in the AFC East. He'd never come out and say he wants a piece of the Jets in Week 1 but you know that had to be a factor, just like it was for Favre. These guys are human beings.
Exactly. Hence my point that there's not much difference between 1-15 and 4-12. Besides the few apparently elite teams the rest of the league is pretty wide open.
When Parcells came here we went from 1-15 to 9-7 and almost the playoffs with essentially the same players.
I wouldn't call that praising Pennington. I merely stated how I felt, and that considering our current circumstances in Miami{rebuilding}, I thought he would make a great addition for us until Henne is ready to go.... I'm sure you have better things to do than dig up my old posts trashing Pennington, who at the time was playing for none other than the Jets for shits sake!! Get a life dude.... IN TUNA WE TRUST....
Interesting thats how you feel. If the Jets traded for Jason Taylor or any mainstay from the Dolphins I'd still tell him to eat shit.
No just loyal. Taylor was a bad example, a man who exudes no class and is a whiny bitch with his dog named Bear because he's so retarded he actually thinks its a bear. If Zach Thomas became a Jet, I'm respectfully disliking him. Don't love Chad to quickly, he gets just as hurt and can cost you a game or two in the 4th quarter.
If we lose to CP in week 1 IMHO we ought to forfeit the entire rest of the season. Sheesh all that money spent bring in BF & then go down in flames to a noodle arm QB. I would think Woody should send out the PSL notice now since if he waits till after game 1 & we lose the upproar will be far more deafening then say after a 45-0 win
