They were talking about that the other day and said it had more to do with batters swinging early in the count to avoid getting 2 strikes.

Tampa loses. Three more outs and the Sox pick up a game. Nice. Time to go to bed happy.

This game was sickening. Wakefield vs Pettite and we lose.
How many opp's did we have to blow this game open with 1 out or Less!?

and this is NOT an excuse we sucked and deserved to lose but again, the HP Ump was so bad and inconsistent beyond belief...sad.

I guess baseball has been reduced, this year, to rooting against the Red Sux and watching the Mets self destruct for the second year in a row.

How about that ARod? Isn't he just the best player you've ever seen? WHY did we re-sign this guy, WHY??????????????????????????

  15. Don't get your hopes up....remember..the sox are from Boston. Unless you're the bruins once the playoffs start the team becomes unstoppable.

This woman I work with who's a Yankee fan came up with a pretty clever A-Rod saying.. It goes something like this:

    Q: Who's up after A-Rod
    A: The OTHER team

All kidding aside, I really think he can't handle the pressure during crucial situations.

If they make the playoffs you will probably be right.

He is still the leading hitter on the team. He probably leads in other categories too. What that tells me is that everybody else must have the same struggles as he does but nobody is looking as close at them as they are at him.

Doubtful. The Angels are far and away the best team in the AL. I can't see any team beating them in a 7 game series, and there's no way the Twins or Red Sox (if they make it) beat them in a short one.

While I'm down on ARod right now, this post is good. It's not like we're getting production from anywhere else. Damon is hitting well, and has all year. Jeter's numbers are more in line with his career, but everyone seems to forget how dreadful he was for the first half of the year. Matsui hasn't been around most of the year. Giambi is 10 pounds of shit stuffed in a 5 pound bag. Half a season is enough work for Jason. Abreu is hitting, a lot actually, and that's nice to see. He's been good most of the year. Nady is a great addition. Cano is probably the laziest player I've ever watched on a baseball field. Melky hurt us for most of the season. "Pudge" is just shit, like I said he'd be. Thanks Posada.

If you take a critical look at the lineup, it's underperformed in almost every slot. It's not all ARod. I keep hearing the argument that ARod is the only one making $30M. Well, Giambi isn't making chump change. Jeter's getting paid awfully well for a singles hitter. I'm pretty sure Pudge makes more than 10 for 48 with 1 RBI warrants. Cano has himself a nice extension himself.

I agree ARod is having a terrible time in important at-bats. At the same time, he's not the only one. The only guys I trust to get on base right now when it matters are Damon, Jeter, Abreu and Nady. Girardi should change the lineup, but he's too pussy to do that. I thought we were getting a more ambitious coach with him? For this much, at least Torre would have had this team competing for an October appearance.
