Best way to beat Matt Cassle? Ask him to start on Sept 14... I don't know why everyone was calling this years Patsies great when they had yet to win, and after they lost both starting corners, and the only sign of youth on their D is Mayo...Maybe it's a testament to how great they were, that they were considered to be destined for the Super Bowl with an old defense, and a medium, if not mediocre running game.
that is the most accurate statement i have read in any reference to brady's injury. the nfl will be fine who gives a fuck about golf right now.
One of my neighbors is a Pats fan. He recorded the game. I watched some of it later yesterday. Cassel looked ok, but that was largely due to the fact that the offensive line gave him all kinds of time. If we can find a way to pressure him, we should be able to shake his confidence. The biggest result of that will likely be overthrown balls, given his passes yesterday. They tended to float, looking almost like a rising fastball. Several of them couldn't have been caught by anyone other than Randy Moss at WR.
Yep, this is a pretty accurate statement. If we can balance pressure on Cassel and good coverage of Moss I think the game will be a Jets victory.
pressure cassell but not by bringing a lot of guys but just trying to disguise. I would throw some corner blitzes in and have rhodes float towards randy. I think he'll try and force it to moss whenever he's under pressure. And mainly just stop the run so the pats rely on him to win the game.
That's what was so strange about some of his passes. I almost typed the same thing, but a few of those balls were just plain strange. It wasn't like he was just overthrowing, the ball just kept rising. If Moss hadn't stretched out full extension, some of them looked like they'd just keep rising and end up 7 rows deep in the stands.
Ahhh, Jets fans at their finest, could there be a more dead on example of Jet fans collective off-season hopes and dreams? Reality comes in September Jet fans should know this by now.
It's what I been saying all along the Pats are so good all you have to do is plug a QB in there. I never thought Brady was all that. If the 07' Pats had an 85 era Marino, Favre or Manning there would have been 60 TDs. The Jets did very well on D, I have absolutely no problem with 19 points. I would: 1. Take some chances on O and open it up; 2. Get a kicking game; 3. Put more pressure on Cassel to make some plays by, duh, scoring points and putting some more rush on him just like the smash mouth Giants did in the SB. Pats didn't like it when their QB was flat on his ass. 4. Take the Pats out of their discipline and they can be beaten.
I don't think any logical Jet fan thought the Pats would roll over and die. You did lose your QB and best player, you're not going 16-0 and I think people see an opportunity there over the course of the year. It was there for the taking on Sunday but the Jets shot themselves in the foot too many times.
