ref post 20:Yeah--well, don't think we expected anything more but there was that chance that in a 4-3 he might do something. I still think we get a 4th for him, right?

Yeah, the Fantatic Fourth rounder for him. Is'nt that better than having a fourth overall pick?

I would have taken a 7th rounder for him. He looks just as useless with the Broncos as he was here.

Someone from Colorado (I forget who) was saying a couple of months ago that he was dominating in training camp - I guess that's why they call it camp.

Also remember that freeing up his cap space was huge. Without it, we wouldn't have been able to trade for Favre unless we cut several other players.

Didn't get to see a lot of yesterday's Broncos game. On at least 2 of the plays I did see Robertson got blown off the ball by about 5 yards right off the snap. Robertson was never a dominant player in the 4-3. He was totally inadequate as a 3-4 NT.

In his prime, he was a solid 4-3 3-technique tackle. He was miscast in the 3-4, and who knows how much his knees have left in him? Would have been nice to get a real pick, but we needed the cap space.

yeah, I know...short of one of Broadway Brett's in-depth play-by-play reviews, I have no idea. Ask Cakes or junc, they're statmasters.

I would not even bother trying to count the snaps, although they were probably few and far between. Consider it a godsend that they took on that ridiculous contract.

Real wasted picks. Mangini should have left the defense as it was. This defensive scheme (3-4) was completely on Mangini and he blew it. The Jets can't move towards the future if our number 1 picks don't amount to anything.

I hope this isn't the case with Gholston.

I know Robertson clogging the middle and Vilma with all the tackles 5-8 yards behind the line were real HOF'ers and destined to become legends in a 4-3. How freaking silly to change to a 3-4.

Come on now. Vilma also made tackles 4 yards past the line and some times as far down feild as 20 yards. He could sure cover a lot of ground once a back had picked up at least 3 yards though.

That isn't the idea. Mangini and Tattenbaum set back the franchise by doing it. They clearly didn't have the personnel for a 3-4 defense. You should work with what you have. Today, they still don't have the right pieces for it. They need a pass rushing DE and another really good LB. Bryan Thomas didn't cut it.

LOL sorry I got mixed up, I was so enamored with Vilma's big play ability.

So you are saying the Jets do not have the right people to play a 3-4, presently as constituted? That a good DC that is aggressive and can manage a game, can not be successful with the players the Jets have in a 3-4, currently?

Right after saying that the horrid unit Mangini and Tannenbaum were left with should have remained?

Please give me of your opinions I would love to hear them...........

Actually we're getting at least a 3rd for vilma. If the saints resign him like people are speculating they will then we get a 2nd. D-rob we won't see anything for, may be a 7th.
