What many Jet fans don't get is that with Favre, for every day like yesterday, there's a day where he will toss 3-4 INT's a loss a game all by himself. That's who Breet Favre is as QB.
Your ratio must be off a little. I mean if that's the case, why did Green Bay win so many games while he was there? Sure, he'll have his bad games, but to say it's 1:1 adds more evidence to the fact that you're nothing but an uninformed troll.
Could you please stop posting a brand new thread with your back-and-forth with yourself every week. Next time stick your mea culpa in your previous thread that espoused the exact opposite opinion, while also unnecessarily duplicates existing threads that were about the same thing ...
To be precise, Green Bay won more football games than every other NFL franchise during the 16 years Favre played there (and I wouldn't be surprised if they lost more games than everyone else the 16 years before he got there). It's amazing how Green Bay consistently fielded such highly talented teams over the years to make up for their crappy QB
It's a well known fact that Favre is a double edged sword, what makes him great, is also what makes him a risk. It doesn't have to be a 1:1 trade off, just ask Green Bay how their last two playoff runs ended. They ended with flat out awful Int's by Favre, that's not a bash, it's just the other sider of being a "gunslinger". Against good teams with patient defenses, he folds more often than not because he isn't patient, again not a Bash, just a well documented observation.
Okay, and I'll also ask Green Bay how they even got to the Playoffs and Superbowl while he was there. Yes? If the risk is Favre throwing some picks, and the reward is a SB run by a QB who has proven he can get there and win, then I'll take it.
No argument there, but the reality is that his type of play will get you sent home from the playoffs more often than not.
Before he got here we had a guy behind center who would always get sent home in the playoffs so we are a step ahead of the game.
Actually, the reality is, if you're not Tom Brady, you'll always be sent home from the Playoffs more often than not. That's just the way it is.
As Billick pointed out yesterday (I think) -- and he is pretty good -- that 30-35 passes is the ideal number. They mixed in the run -- and the runners -- very well yesterday. Brett (and all QBs) need a running game to be successful. Yesterday they got it when they needed to.
I think you're not understanding the argument of people like me... it isn't so much about specific play calls here or there... but rather the bigger picture of the team philosophy... I could point to such and such down they ran such and such play... but that is not the real points I'm making, it's just an example... The bigger point is that all too often it looks like the Jets are playing with a "Try Not To Lose" mentality, which equals a loser mentality in reality. Yesterday was awesome, because throwing for the endzone on 4th and 1 was a gutsy winner's mentality call... and I applaud them for it. Over the course of the entire Mangini era, that has not been the rule. All too often the Jets run sidelines plays rather than attacking up the field like winning teams do. On defense, the Jets drop 8 into coverage even though we have a linebacking corps that consists of pass rushers. Hell, Gholston was drafted because of his pass rushing ability, and with the limited time he has seen, what he has done? Containments and zone coverages... why? The philosophy of this team makes me nervous. I think we can win because we have the talent to spite the philosophy, but with a less talented roster we would be roasted. Mangini may still be developing, but I'd estimate he is a LONG way away from being the kind of coach we would expect.
You just keep failing to comprehend the bigger picture. Each week. It's not about the success rate or execution of any specific play; it's about the mentality and team philosophy, which stem from the coaches.
Really? Just like the Jets where going to crush the Patriots?? You see, you are the exact kind of Jet fan that most people laugh at. You don't understand the game past the most recent thing that happens, "Jets win= their Great & going to the Super Bowl" or "Jets lose= their going to be lucky win 6 games" You see there's no true understanding of the game with guys like you, you go how ever the wind blows. I'm sorry my low football I.Q. friend, but the AFC East is going to be a Dog fight all year long, and the Pats already have a game up on you.
You are exactly the kind of 'Pats fan' that the entire faithful NFL fanbase laughs at. The kind that latched onto them when they were hot, talks all kinds of arrogant smack all year long until they break you and you disappear for 3 months and devise a new moniker for message boards, and mull over the idea of hopping a different wagon.
whats sad is that the blanket statement you put so much thought into doesn't come close to the type of "fan" that I am. I don't like being called a "fan" - it lumps me in with loser troll retards like you. When you stop using smileys, maybe i'll consider you a non-expendable human being.
