And then Buffalo awaits twice. We will have left games v.s. New England, Tennessee, Denver, Seattle, St Louis, San Fran and Miami. The way we have played all season this reeks of 7-9 or 8-8. As per our previous conversations was it worth it to spend 100 million dollars on another shot at a miracle instead of rebuilding this mess once and for all. Farve makes it fun but at the end of the day if we do not make the playoffs he will leave this team after the season and we are sc***ed once again. At what points do we stop trying to put off season band aids on this shotgun wound which is our team and fix this mess from the bottom up.
You always say this, you're living in the past. Teams don't have time to rebuild that way anymore, you have to upgrade on the fly each year. Players don't stay long enough to do it the old way. You might have an overall plan, but it better include bringing in guys who can play now. This notion of rebuilding is just an excuse for losing now on the promise we'll win later, which often doesn't happen.
They actually did fix it from the bottom up 3 years ago. We are in year 3 of the rebuilding process. Favre is the one component that is out of character in that he is a one or two year player at most. Either Clemens, Ainge or Ratliff will be the next QB sooner then later. They turned over approximately 75% of the roster in 3 off seasons. The only players on the team who were on the team before Tannenbaum and Mangini took over were: Coles Cotchery Baker Moore Ellis Pouha Thomas Barton Rhodes Nugent Barrett Everyone else was either drafted, traded for or signed as a free agent in the last 3 offseasons. Drafted: Brick Mangold Clemens Smith Smith Washington Drew Coleman Revis Harris Stuckey Gholston Keller Lowery Ainge Traded for: Favre Thomas Jones Jenkins Free Agent: Kenyon Coleman Jesse Chatman Bubba Franks Damien Woody Alan Faneca Calvin Pace Hank Poteat Ahmad Carroll Davis Bowens They did rebuild the team. They are not done as they have some positions that need some upgrading. I liked the offseason moves although I prefered Jacob Bell to Faneca.
This is good. Although what I meat was I would have traded Coles, Ellis, Chad, Barton, Thomas and Barrett If I could for picks. I would have let Clemens and Ratliff battle it out and start this thing fresh from the bottom up with all Mangini guys. We have try to retool and we have the same results every year. I think it is time to rebuild. That is they way most dynasty's are built.
We are going to lose now and it has shown over how many years. We will have this same conversation three years from now. Look at the nucleus of most teams that win. Look at all the picks on The Giants that were drafted by the team. Most winning programs rebuild through the draft and add minimal players not try to buy a championship each year.
Dude, that is just insane... trade all those guys away for picks?? Thank God you are not the GM...
We got your future Hof Qb, Future Hof Guard, Pass Rushing Lb and spent over 100 million dollars to be 3-3. At what point do you realize great teams are built from the bottom up. If I was the Gm we would have better picks and at least some Idea of what to do regarding Qb by seasons end. You kept your guys do you feel confident about a Playoff or Sb run today?
I understand that building a team requires responsible management of the salary cap, smart draft strategies, and the addition of free agent veterans to fill some roles that you are not able to draft for. You cannot expect to just turn over most of the roster and just start over. That isn't practical the way contracts and salary caps work. And you certainly do not just start shipping off players that are solid performers, or have the ability to be just to pick up more unproven players. Every championship team has average players on it, they just play above average football with the help of above average and elite players, and good coaching. So we finally splashed in the FA waters after having done a good job of managing our cap? We upgraded the one position you swore up and down would make ALL the difference - QB, and we got one of the leagues best passers. The cash spent rebuilding the line was well spent with the exception of perhaps Woody... then we added some more beef to our DL with Jenkins and Pace to shore up the LB some more. We have already seen the effects of the defense and for the most part it has been positive. We are finally stopping some running games. With the exception of yesterday the OL has been markedly improved, as has been the QB position. I'm not sure what you have to bitch about. So we are 3-3? We can still end the season 10-6, 11-5, or 8-8. We won't know till we get there Nostradomus. I think some of you just like to bitch and cannot live without slamming the panic button everytime we hit a bump in the road.
We spent 100 Million to be 3-3 with two wins coming against a 2-3 and 0-7 teams. As years previous we lost to the Pats and Chargers who were the Sb caliber teams on our schedule as billed. We have 2 games v.s the Bills and games v.s the Pats, Broncos, Titans, Seahawks, Rams, Dolphins, Chiefs and Niners left. 10-6 or 11-5. Yea OKAYYYY!!!! Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. Upgrading our Qb position is the difference between us being 3-3 and 1-5 right now with what we had goin on. Im not slamming any panic button. I have been saying we are mediocre with a chance to win 8-10 games with Farve at the helm and a playoff berth. Im not the one here expecting a Superbowl from this bunch. Every Superbowl team has at least 1-3 above avg to Elite players on it. Where are ours? Jenkins if he can stay healthy and that is it. As a matter of fact what Elite players have we had on our team over the last 40 years for that matter? We are the essence of Mediocre. I think the Giants worked their draft and F/A signings quite well within their salary cap last year don't you? Or does it now work that way?
maybe the reason he thinks u cant beat us is cause you cant we are better than u in all phases of the game...check the stats NJ ISNT BETTER THAN NY this year

oakland has a pass rush...we don't. They put so much pressure. Favre was lucky he can move or the game woulda been worse.
