Be careful MJ. The Jersey boys need their scapegoats. Even when it's a win. They make fun of Brady being a "robot"/"machine" here, always playing at the same level, but deep down that's what they would really like to have too. One bad game and you have lots of them posting that it's obvious that he's merely been lucky for 16 years (start reading the other threads if you don't believe me), that all of his success has been a fluke of astoundingly long odds or or something. Some Jets fans are even more fair weather than the Packer fans who turned on Favre in recent years.
I feel bad too....................... For life long Jet fans that have to read these completely stupid threads started by Favre jock sniffers.
Exactly. A HOF QB throws three INTs against the worst team in the league? Farve's picks are inexcusable.
there is plenty of blame to go around. both the cs and favre were horrible today. the jets are lucky they got a wiin
Actually, they are not the worst team in the NFL. Thanks for trying, though. They actually won a game. Still two teams looking to accomplish that.
No offense puddnhead, but there aren't many posters here who said that Favre has been lucky to have a great career. Perhaps one or two posters mentioned his streak as a detriment to his team. However, what I have seen is many Jet fans here (including myself) have said that overall THIS YEAR Favre has been less than spectacular. His play this year has nothing to do with his past greatness. To just excuse INT's as "Favre will be Favre" doesn't cut it for me. The last pass to Stuckey was a bad pass. Whether Stuckey kept running or not. The DB was in a position to make the play. I would have been happy with throwing the ball away. However, you saw Favre's eyes on replay and it looked like he was going to throw it there no matter what. In that situation I think you need to be more careful. While Favre still has his moments, to think that Favre was going to repeat what he did last year was highly optimistic. What the history of sports has told us is that generally athletes don't gracefully fall off in performance. Their numbers (especially in football) tend to fall precipitously. Favre may buck this trend - who knows (he has bucked others - the QB streak most noticably). Not meant as a knock (even though you might take it as such), but I get a kick out of bunch of Favre fans that have been members for about two months commenting on the Jets as if they have been lifelong fans. For someone to come into this forum and call the Jets fairweather is incredible. In fact, I believe it's an oxymoron to use the term fairweather with the Jets. Since when has there been "fair weather" as a Jet fan ?
Look, the Pennington/Farve crap on this board is pointless. Farve's here, Pennington's gone, end of story. But as a Dolphin fan, I have to stick up for my QB. Today Pennington was 22-30-314, no INTs, one TD. We had about 50 yards on the ground. Pennington was our offense. Without him, we're not even in that game, never mind winning it.
I felt bad for Chad last year, he did nothing to deserve the fans cheering him getting hurt. I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for Favre. He's a big boy, he knew (or should have known) what he was getting into when he cried his way out of Green Bay.
I apologize johnny, you are right in many regards here. Favre has definitely not been as good as he was last year, if I implied that I did not mean to, and I should not have been calling names. I guess all I'm saying is .. it's not like Favre didn't have really really bad games last year either. 6 of his 16 games he had a QB rating of 80 or less, I remember reading. I personally remember he was downright awful against Chicago, Dallas, the Redskins, and the Eagles (not sure what the other two are), and I remember three of his turkey games came in the first 6 or 7 games of season. I mean really bad. But there just seems to be a lot more "bench him, he's screwed up the season, start Raitliff" going on here than you might see with some other teams' fans.
Even great Quarter Backs have off games but Brett made up for it in the end by putting a W in the win column, (great catch Coles). This team has already got as many wins as they did last year total and that's what counts !!! A WIN IS A WIN............................... On to the Bills :jets:
Whoops, my bad for overstating the weakness of a one win team. Let me paint you a rosier picture: CORRECTION: The Chiefs, coached by the nearest thing to Vince Lombardi, are headed to the SB and so Brett played great today by only throwing three INTs against the best D in the league. Happy now? It's indisputable: Farve threw three INTs. No one (well, almost no one) in their right mind would say that a QB that turns the ball over three times had a good game. He played poorly against a very weak team.
I am just watching the game right now and I haven't seen any of the INTs yet. I did catch some of the game on the radio and the announcers I heard said that Brett didn't have much time to throw and got hit pretty hard a couple of times. Is that true? From the little bit I have read, you are getting what Brett Favre gives you. There are times when you will be so frustrated and the other times when you will be amazed. For better or worse it's what you get. Still, he does have that ability to put those mistakes behind him and drive the team down for a touchdown to win the game. Edit: Just saw the first INT. Brett trying to make something happen when he probably shouldn't have, although it was clear that he couldn't step into that throw due to the pressure.
I have never once disputed that overall, Favre had a bad game. I have not once said otherwise. What I have said, however, is you did see some of the good favre brings to the table despite the bad play. Things such as the final TD drive to win the game, and on the drive prior, a very nice 1st and 15 completion to stucky down the seem. I never stated favre had a great game, or even a decent game. I only said he did do enough to win the game, which you did do. The three ints were bad, but DESPITE those ints, the team still put 4 TD's on the board. So, even with the ints, the offense was stilla ble to move the ball. I was merely trying to point that out. Favre played poor today against a bad team, but he showed signs of why he is here too, and people are just forgetting that. I just feel overall, Favre has done well to this point considering the timing of the trade.
Last year Pennington had a terrible season. Last year Favre had a great season. So far this year Pennington seems to be doing fairly well. So far this year Favre seems to be doing pretty bad. What changed?
Saw the second INT. Watching the original play (not the replay) in slow-mo it looks like the defender hit Favre's hand when he was throwing it. Still, not a good decision to throw the ball into double-coverage.
I'm sorry...the OP feels BAD for Favre? For what..Schotty forcing him to throw 3 INTs against the fucking CHIEFS? I'm sorry but at this point this board has a fucking warped view of this team. Mr. Perfect's 3 INTs were just as much a problem as...well whatever the complaint about the coaching staff is this week. I've actually worked this out...what I think the Jets fan logic for complaining is: - Jets run alot: Should have passed. Coaching staffs fault cause they brought in Favre to pass the ball. - Jets pass alot (today): Should have ran. Feel bad for Favre for being coached by idiots. - We win: Not by enough or didn't dominate the whole game. Coaching staff sucks. - We lose: Coaching staff is retarded.
