I dont have the stats in front of me , but I feel like we have a good record against the Rams.We always seem to play them well. Like how we never play Oakland good or Seattle no matter how good they are, but in reverse. Anybody know what our record against them is??
Really? You feel that way? I know we lost badly to them at home in 2000 and lost Week 17 in St.Louis in 2004. Thats 2 losses right there.
haha, exactly. I was just thinking this. That 04 loss would have kept us out of the playoffs if it wasn't for the Steelers (the AFC's number 1 seed) beating Buffalo in Buffalo with their backups and Buffalo's playoff chances on the line.
And now that I think of it . . . Seattle is another team we have played well in recent memory. We blew them out in 04 at home. We beat them in that wild game in 98 at home when Vinny scored a TD on 4th and goal to win the game, even though he was actually almost a full yard short of the endzone. We also beat them at home in the last game of the 99 season to go 8-8 (with Ray Lucas at Quarterback).
I do not recall a win against the Rams except for 1983. Eric Dickerson had an 85 yard TD run, Mark Gastineau got into a fight after his sack dance was interrupted by a Rams lineman and the Jets won the game, possibly in overtime. But since then, nothing but losses. Tony Eason started for the Jets against them and lost as did Browning Nagle. Jim Everett beat a Rich Kotite team in new York. They lost in 1998 in St. Louis which I believe was Glenn Foley's last start. Mike Martz beat us bad at the Meadowlands as Trung Canidate had a big game and most recently, Herm was beaten in OT in a wild game in St. Louis that included a Cotchery kickoff return for a touchdown.
Now dont I feel like a horses ass. Just a feelin I had. Oh well no more silly posts like this for me. Thanks for puttin me back in reality boys
