In the pre-season they were trying to make Stuckey a corner, I would assume with the goal of opening up a WR roster spot. It didn't work out, obviously, as Stuckey is not a corner.

It might be because I'm drunk but I read that as "deep throat."

So if they keep Clowney out for this year, Favre will come back next year for him eh?

Sit his ass. Works for me.

they were doing a Troy Brown thing with Stuckey in case shit hit the fan and they needed an emergency CB.

Stuckey is a damn good #3/#4 WR.

With more experience he could hold down the #2 role.

If the other receiveres can stretch the field as Mangini says, why don't they ever stretch it? If the issue is not speed, then what is it. If the Jets used the pass to stretch the field 4x per game Jones could consistently run for 100yrd games and the Jets would likely hit at least 1-4 of those deep passes. The only sad thing is that we have little Schitt calling the plays.

With only 2 TEs active lately, 1 FB, and just 2 RBs, I find it hard that they can't find some way to get Clowney in the game. There has got to be some other positions out there that have an overabundance on game day. I think we need somebody that can stretch the field on a consistant basis.

The only way he gets active is if there is a injury

Coles and Cotchery have the starting spots locked up. Favre likes throwing to Stuckey out of the slot and it looks like he was meant for it - he has speed, and he's quick enough to get seperation and move after the catch. Smith contributes heavily in special teams (tackling, blocking...etc.) and Wright is our special teams ace. There just isn't too much room in the offense to put Clowney in there unless Coles, Cotchery or Stuckey go down. We loss a hell of a lot of our offense if it's Coles or Cotchery going down and Favre still does not yet have the time or reps to be as comfortable with Clowney as he is with Stuckey. He's a victim of timing and I don't like that we can't fit him in right now but there isn't a whole lot he can do for us, especially since we don't have the downfield plays that will make him effective.

Why do we have 3 qb's active and a fourth on the team in Brad Smith? I agree that we should deactivate Ratliff for a week and just give the guy a shot. Work in 3 or 4 plays for him to try and see what comes of it. There has got to be other positions available for sitting @ any given point of the season to make something work. This is just my opinion, and it's probably not one that is good enough to have me added to the CS, so we will leave it at that.

Ratliff has been inactive every game since Ainge went on IR, and maybe even before hand

As I said, this is why I am not on the CS. But i do believe there has to be a way to make it happen. Not that it will, but it should. Maybe against a supposed cupcake (49ers).

Let's get this guy some playing time. Our WRs are having issues creating seperation. Maybe, Clowney won't be the answer, but we won't know if we don't try.

After watching Coles get no separation and not even getting off the ground to attempt to catch the ball, I say put Clowney in for him first thing tomorrow morning.

I do think it's time we gave him a shot. I'm not completely sure yet who I would deactivate, and he definitely is a victim of the numbers game, but he could help this team.

Yeah that was pretty sad today. Pathetic actually. Many #1 wideouts would've caught those jump balls, or at least gotten a hand on it.
