Nugent won't get cut since he is in his contract year, unless the coaching staff is 100% convinced there is another guy out there who can help them at some other position. Nugent just may not get signed.

Can Feely? He had 2 touchbacks last game in 10 chances and isn't really a deep kicker. It's asinine to give Feely the long-term job if Nugent is healthy. With the 4-4 last game, he's now at 80% for the year. Nugent was 80% last year and 89% the year before. Each of the last few weeks, there have been threads trashing Feely. Now we're dumping Nugent after Feely finally has a good game.

Nugent is still very young, and has proved that he is pretty reliable when healthy. Feely is old and very unpredictable. I think Nugent is better right now, and has a lot of room to improve, and should probably be our kicker for a long time.

Neither of them will make 50+ yd kicks anyways, so cut em both.

If they were pressure kicks touchy feely would have shanked it wide right. Like the Jets even needed any field goals in the rams game. We'll see what happens when the game is on the line. Hopefully he is still money then.

To me, Feeley just looks the part of an NFL kicker, whereas Nugent never has.

he cost us a FIRST round pick in my opinion. I don't consider the year that Doug Jolley rented a jets uniform worth squat.

No, its not time to cut Nuge. He is decent as is feely and a hell of a lot younger. When he's healthy he is going to be our guy.

When Feeley hits 4 FG's in a game when the Jets need the points, we can start talking about a controversy. Excpet for the kick in the Oakland game, every Feeley kick has been an adventure.

Keep Nuge. SO much of kicking is mental. Feeley has blown it in big situations -- Nuge needs to be tested come playoff time.
